For comparison, how different does the driver seat look when the passenger seat back is also adjusted all the way forward?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

99 w/ power, heated, memory seats. I picked up the car from a really tall guy - the driver's seat is leaned way back, pretty much in the back seat. All seat motors work fine, including the recline, however the most upright position is still way too "gangsta" for real driving (for me at least- 5'9"). Is there a way to manually adjust the general recline range? Is the seat broken?

POST 2Original post

If you've run it all the way upright and it's still reclined, something's bent, skipped, or misaligned. For comparison, how different does the driver seat look when the passenger seat back is also adjusted all the way forward? If they're significantly different, you know you have a problem.

POST 3Original post

On another note, the headrest portion of the seat generally still has a fair bit of extra room even when sitting back into the seat. I've always found that leaning my head back far enough to touch it is fairly uncomfortable. Well, not exactly uncomfortable, but I wouldn't want to drive like that. My thought is that this is to provide room for a helmet.

Looks like passenger goes significantly further forward. I pulled the seat and will see if there is anything obvious. Something is not right here.

POST 5Original post

If you just picked this up from a tall guy, he may have retimed the motors to give himself more recline. There is one motor that drives a shaft to power the recline. You may have to remove the seat and recenter the motors travel and then reinstall
