Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I suspect the CA ad is years old, considering that the car now has 76k on it.
Leading evidence: 'ca ad is years old, considering' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'ca ad is years old, considering' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check intermix issues' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

I think it looks like a nice clean car, and seems fairly priced.

You'll have to change your Rennlist name if you buy it.

If the selling person (dealer?) won't let you have a ppi done, run away from the car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been looking for a 996 for several months now and where I live, rural upstate PA, there are virtually no cars locally to look at so I've been looking on the internet at possibilities. This one is exactly what I'm looking for in that it's a Tiptronic coupe and it's white at a price that seems reasonable. Do any of you see red flags or have any past dealings with the dealership? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks clean. Be sure to get a PPI. Priced reasonably. Fly out and drive it home - should be an easy drive. You'll have to change your Rennlist name if you buy it.
I found the car offered for sale back on 12/16, 12/17 sale for $23,885 with 76758 miles.
I do not know the date, but the car was listed for sale in Greensburg, NC with 76375 miles for $20,950.
Then I found the car offered for sale -- again I do not know the date -- from a place in Redwood City, CA, with just 32K miles on it for $37,950.
Do the above constitute red flags?
I don't know. You decide.
Listen to the others. Have a ppi done. If the car is located elsewhere to you, find a good independent Porsche shop near where the car is located. If the selling person (dealer?) won't let you have a ppi done, run away from the car. There are lots of 996's out there.
Price seems appropriate for age and condition.
I've also read that cars with Tiptronic, are less susceptible to IMS failures. Also, if the car has or has not had the IMS replaced, at 75k miles, it is statistically less likely to have a failure now. From what I've read on IMS failures - my best guess is that failure occurs sooner rather than later. So I would not hesitate to drive it home (assuming it passes a ppi).
Thanks for the information. How did you find that out? I wish I had more options locally but it's a very rural area and not many people around here drive anything other than pickups.
Source? Not disagreeing, but that is the first time I've heard there is a difference between manual and Tip transmissions in relation to IMSB failure. So, color me interested.
Get a PPI and move forward. Car looks great.
Be advised, selling it will be difficult in a few years if you break 100k. My car was a slightly better equipped twin of this car (seal grey with Navi), it is still sitting at $16k cash at local lot; 6 months after I got rid of it.
Decent options, though a couple were hard to read. Nice car if you want a white Tiptronic.
I don't see the code for PSM, but the button is clearly there.

That wouldn't concern me, it was probably sold at auction to the current dealer. Pretty common, especially with something like a tiptronic that tend to be slow sellers. I suspect the CA ad is years old, considering that the car now has 76k on it.
I think it looks like a nice clean car, and seems fairly priced. I would definitely try for less because as I mentioned previously, tiptronic Porsches tend to be very slow selling cars.
