apparently youre not the only one, might set a record for price fetched for a used NA 996, wowsers its getting steep!

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I thought this thing was going to be a steal, until I read that the car hasn't logged miles since the 80s. Someone will end up paying a full bill for refresh after purchase I believe.

And that's a car that's probably going to need some major rehabbing from being driven so little.
And this one for $34,500 wasn't too shabby:.

im keeping an eye on this one

similar to my 2003, but more highly optioned and no ims history. These prices make me feel good about what i paid for mine.
And another one. And this one is perhaps my fav NA 996 on BAT yet based on the options like the seller, the seats and the suspension....

if this is the car youre talking about, I thought the same. Someone commented that the owner is a true enthusiast and cares for his pcars religiously. Maybe, but all the care in the world is futile without the knowledge of knowing what to listen and look for....

That is the car. While they didn't record on the passenger side it sounds suspicious to me and last time I checked BAT some Alfa guy blew it off as normal "Porsche tick". Sorry but that assessment is a faulty one. Mine does not "tick"...anymore.

I spy a sooty drivers side exhaust. Also hear a little slappy slap on the passenger side.

I know it's not a 911 but pretty cool to see these listed on BaT. Don't see these very often for sale.

What I find amazing is the number of people with thousands of posts who have never bid on or sold a car. They comment on every car and pretend to be experts on everything. Somehow, they are seen as adding value to the auction.
they remind me of the Elmer Fudds at the gun range. Take up a spot all day, maybe shoot their rifle 10 times over 8 hours and act like experts on every caliber, every action, every manufacturer, etc.
100% agree. I forwarded that listing to my brother and a friend with the same year, etc. after watching the video and made the same comment. Thats often something a BaT member would comment on but I didnt want to be the one.
It's up to the buyers to do their due diligence, not internet mechanics. I think these cars are in a tough spot on there but they seem to sell well regardless. I wonder how many of the commentators even have ever owned a 911.
