Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace most likely the radio' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'generated' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with becker' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It was replaced on my car because of Becker issues.

I ve used these guys before for a bluetooth kit for it, they may also have a work around they may share.

Suggestion
i have the same system, i guess if its aftermarket might make it a bit more difficult, but when i replaced my keys, i got a print off from porsche that included the PCM codes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I tried the different options yo recommended but didn't work.
hey all
first post in the water cooled world as I recently had my first water cooled addition (2002 C4S)
Battery went dead. PCM required a code to start and the code I have does not work.
Local dealer takes forever to respond to my request (as they are 'expecting' an update from Germany)
Note that I have the dual piece (navigation + radio)
Any alternative way to get the code?
Hi there
Is there nothing in your vehicle documents or handbook??
If not an indie garage may sort you out or an audio specialist may be able to read the code off your unit to get it going again.
Good luck!
You'll have to contact Becker radio company. They'll request the serial number of the unit which I believe that can be displayed via a special key stroke and then issue you the correct PCM code. Your car was sold with the PCM2 unit and could have been replaced since these radio unit are known to be problematic. It's possible you're trying to input the original code not the replacement. I'm pretty sure if you had the vehicle's service history, you'll find Porsche replaced it. It was replaced on my car because of Becker issues. Good luck!
If your '02 has the same PCM deck as my '01, you can try my code -- i'll post it here when I get home.
I had to go to the dealer to get it, but was forewarned that if the deck had been changed, the code may or may not work.
thanks you all for your responses.
Most likely the radio was replaced. Even though I have a lot of documentation of the car, I do not have anything for the radio.
Joe - the renntech option does not apply for my dual system, Tried it already. Thanks.
Stan - I will wait for your code, hoping it will work. If not I will check with Becker. I pulled the radio out and have all the serial numbers.
Nice offering Stan, but my bet the OP is going to have to pay for the code. You understand that the key code is unique to the Becker radio in his car.. in other words, the serial number is match to the key code. The odds are too great that your code will identically match his radio.
Op, you may try this website since he now has the serial number.

i have the same system, i guess if its aftermarket might make it a bit more difficult, but when i replaced my keys, i got a print off from porsche that included the PCM codes. I suspect generated from the vin number. I have a card with it on, and in the front page of owners manual, but as you say if its aftermarker install you may need to go direct to the radio manufactures. I ve used these guys before for a bluetooth kit for it, they may also have a work around they may share.

From my research, there are a set of codes for every 'block' of radios produced. My code was more of a hail mary. There have been many folks that got the radio working from using codes found online.
If you go to Porsche and ask politely, they will provide the code free of charge - at least that was my experience with my dealer.
Hello again. sorry for late response.
I tried the different options yo recommended but didn't work.
I ended up getting a code from Porsche classic. It seems that there are certain codes that apply to (what I believe) specific range of PCMs, as I was given two codes to test and one of them worked.
The radio requires 2 codes. Model BE2582 SERIAL 55012125; and SIEMENS Nav P08160019818/01
Please let me know if you can find codes for this radio.
Thank You
