Suggestion

If it's moving slower than it used to, check the voltage to ensure your battery is charged correctly and ensure that all of the gearing is lubricated.

Suggestion

Mine are painfully slow as well, and although I'm grateful to have memory seats for the same reasons you mention above, I have to hold the setting button down in order for it to fully get to the proper position.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not sure if it is just me but my power seats seem to move very slowly. My '99 cab has the memory seat option - which is great, as I have two drivers, one tall (me) and one short. Switching between the two seems to take forever though. Any ideas on how to speed the seat movement up?

POST 2Original post

If it's moving slower than it used to, check the voltage to ensure your battery is charged correctly and ensure that all of the gearing is lubricated. If the slowness is not a new symptom (they're both slow and always have been), there's not much you can do to correct. Power seats are geared to make them powerful and reliable, but glacially slow. You could in theory step up the voltage to increase the speed of the motors involved, but this isn't realistically something most people want to do to their Porsche.

POST 3Original post

My power seats move at a painfully slow rate also...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. They have always been slow (I've only had the car for a year though) as far as I know. It has a new battery and I re-did the alternator and ground straps (which eliminated instrument dimming) so I think they are getting good voltage. Last time I was under the seats I cleaned up the ground connections there as well. I will check on the lubrication of the seat motor gears.
