Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can either use the new set at the track, or the existing factory ones, depends on what I can find.

Would this dimension fit my car, I am ok if I have to use spacers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You can go a little taller 25.5 inch f/r but still not that many choices
Guys, I am looking at a set of additional wheels for my c4s, and found a set at a good deal, they are 19 X 8.5 (Offset 45) Rear: 19 X 11 (Offset 40). Would this dimension fit my car, I am ok if I have to use spacers. Also how is the tire selection, are there many options available on this size?
Another possible set is 18" wheels, 8.5 x 18 45 offset, 11x18 65 offset
Nominal offset for the C4S - ET50 front and ET63 rear
The second set is closer to stock specs. You have to be careful putting 19" wheels and tires on the 996 since it was never designed to handle that size. You'll have to reduce the outer diameter of the tires to accommodate.
wrong info ^^ 996 c4s is widebody
19x8.5 45 offset 19x11 45 offset is good. almost stock
63mm rear offset is for narrowbody and will need a 17-23mm spacer to fit
Tire selection in 19's suck for the 996 gen there's only a few choices.
To match stock diameter you want 25 inch or so.. You can go a little taller 25.5 inch f/r but still not that many choices
Thank you, I should have clarified.
Some Turbo/C4S rear wheels have a ET63 offset based on the Porsche wheel book
For example, the Porsche 18" Sport Techno wheels for the C4S, GT2, and 996 Turbo:
996.362.136.51
8x18 ET50 front
996.362.142.52
11x18 ET63 rear
Recommended tires:
225/40ZR/18 front
295/30ZR/18 rear
Some of the widebody 11" rear wheels have a ET45 offset. There are also some factory 12" rear wheels in the book.
996.362.136.31
8.5x18 ET40 front
996.362.142.31
12x18 ET45 rear
Here a set of Sport Techno posted on Pelican...

correct. the sport technos are listed as widebody fitment but that ad is misleading as for the widebody you NEED the factory 17mm spacer w/ nuts made specifically for the widebody 996.
factory recommended a 45mm offset for 18x11 wide wheel. the sport techno 63mm - 17mm spacer = 46mm offset
18x12 45mm offset was standard for 996 gt2 but will also fit widebody. Tires were a little taller for the 18x12 wheels though
Thank you for the information. That set of 19" are close to me and look very nice, but if the tire options are limited I may pass on them and wait for a set of 18 to show up.
I am basically looking for an additional set of wheels for the track. I can either use the new set at the track, or the existing factory ones, depends on what I can find.
Hey guys,
I've come across a set of 997 turbo rims
Front = 19 x 8.5 ET56
Back = 19 x 11 ET51
Being completely new to Porsche, let me know if these will work on my car and max tire size I can go to without modifications. I was looking at 235 / 40 R19 on the front and 305 / 30 R19 on the back. Will this combination work?
Thanks for all the help guys...looking forward to digging in and surfing around the forum.
Cheers,
Rick
