Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This is what I was thinking that someone would want the car for track use because of the no sunroof.
Leading evidence: 'Use because of the no sunroof' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use because of the no sunroof' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2001 C4 non-factory aero kit with the ROW M030 suspension and sunroof delete. I understand that sunroof delete cars are not very common. My question is, does no sunroof actually add value? I am possibly thinking of selling my car. Kind of have a turbo itch at the moment.
i'd mention it in your ad - "slicktop" is a popular search term these days
adding value is debatable - no 996 is really rare. you need the right buyer at the right time, that's all. research local comps. don't be the highest, don't be the lowest. car will sell within a few days.
If you happen to come across the right buyer, it adds value. I'd pay more for one that was a slick top as I'm going to spend the money converting mine but it comes down to being lucky and that type of person finding you when you sell it.
I prefer non-sunroof, but I wouldn’t spend much more for a slick top.
I’m not a convertible or sunroof person (I don’t like the sun in my eyes while driving) so my sunroof stays closed almost all the time.
I would be interested in no sunroof. Always looks like a maintenance item.
So the car came with a sunroof and you deleted it? How does that work?
Best,
Also prefer no sunroof. Mostly because I'm tall and it gives me a bit of extra headroom. Others like no sunroof due to the lack of weight up high and also due to the lack of extra complexity (one less thing to break).
Isn’t the OP stating the sunroof wasn’t cut into the roof at the factory. The sunroof delete is cool because the roof is track compliant for safety regulations and more headroom for helmeted heads.
Correct - came from the factory with no sunroof. This is what I was thinking that someone would want the car for track use because of the no sunroof. I am tall (6'3") and I could easily wear a helmet in the car with no issue.
Sunroof delete is the bomb, but not that rare on ROW cars; especially UK where they seem to actually be prevalent. If it was PCNA it would be a unicorn.
When I was looking for a 997.2 a few years back I tried finding one without a sunroof and waited for a few weeks without any luck, I then finally settled for one that came with it. Yes, that is how much I dislike the sunroof and unless I spec it from factory chances are you cannot find one. I would have paid an extra 3K if the right one came along without the sunroof.
The differences that I know are:
1. No secondary air pump
2. Only one Cam deviation sensor (on bank 1)
3. Headlights are apparently aimed slightly different (I do not notice any difference)
4. My car is M030 so it will also be slightly lower due to it being ROW M030
5. All of the stickers are in Japanese
That is all I can think of. Not really much difference at all.
Since I imported the car from Japan I don't think I can sell it to the US until it is 25 years old and meets the US import criteria. I would be interested in selling it since I am not using it much unfortunately.
This is my favorite car. If it had a sunroof I probably would have ****canned it a long time ago. Instead I just keep dumping money in it. Everytime I drive it Im even more impressed than the last
Sunroof is really lame. That's why I like the GT4 that does not come with it. The sunroof adds weight to the worst location on top and it is a potential source of leaks as well as squeaks and rattles. If people want the open top the Cab wins hands down.
