Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi: Has anyone had any experience with the JIC coilover shocks? I have a broken bracket on the left rear coilover which attaches to the rear stabilizer bar. I have tried to contact JIC (I found a website and Facebook page which was active January of this year) with emails but I am not getting any responses. I was hoping I could order a new bracket and replace it. Looking at the broken bracket it appears I may be able to have it welded up. My question is: if I unbolt the eyelet at the bottom on the shock to get the bracket off, will I release the gas contained in the shock? Thanks for any help I can get.

POST 2Original post

That sucks could it be taken off and welded with support add on Imr subscribed because I have jic/cross suspension and Im concerned Mike

POST 3Original post

No - will not release any gas. Unbolt the 3 top mount bolts inside the cabin. Then disconnect the end link from the broken tab Then that single mounting bolt at the bottom of the shock and pull the assembly out.. Take the shock and the broken tab to be welded up for repair. Inspect the other side as well.

POST 4Original post

Another option may be the bolt on sway bar mounts from ohlin. Looks like the cans r the same diameter. Just cut the original one off.
