I briefly looked around and didn't notice anything leaking...so I checked fluid levels and everything looked good.

Thank you for replying Hernandezja, the reason I asked was that I took off my serpentine belt and checked all the pulleys.

Work is complete!!.Ended up changing water pump, thermostat and coolant.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need some expert opinions..
After work before hopping in the C4S I noticed a very small puddle underneath the engine. I then looked underneath and noticed a small blackish oil substance by the water pump area...but obviously wasn't antifreeze. I briefly looked around and didn't notice anything leaking...so I checked fluid levels and everything looked good. Drove home and stopped during the way to check and was ok.
After I got home I then stuck my head under and seen a small amount on where the thermostat area is but nothing else. I removed the intake to get a better view from top and everything looks good. I have attached a picture so if anyone has any idea what fluid it could be, and where it might be coming from??? You can see the small leak would basically build up on that thermostat area bolt and drip. The puddle was really small...and when I parked the car it was sitting for about 10 hours.....and after the drive home it didn't seem to be leaking anymore.
Could it be the motor mount? They leak a black hydraulic fluid when they fail. The vacuum tube for the AOS is in that area also above but you would see a leak from there down the alternator. Could it be from filling the oil and dripping down the backside of the airbox and filler tube?
yeah the puddle makes It to the ground but very slowly. The water pump pulley does make sense as the car has 64k miles on original pump. And the fluid its leaking does kinda look like a mix from bearing grease....I guess ill prob remove belt and see how pump pulley spins....thanks for input guys...I will update on status once I take a look at it.
Work is complete!!.Ended up changing water pump, thermostat and coolant. Removed water pump and u could feel the bearing going out so at 65k its time was done. Thermostat looked good but since i was down there did that too.
Waterpump job wasnt too crazy and didnt even have to jack up car. Hardest part is accessing a couple bolts but with a swivel socket extension all is good. Took about 4 hours in total while taking my time to complete everything.
If anyone is looking for a good part spot try this site. I was.able to get oem pump, thermostat and gaskets. I usually get suncoast but they had about the same price no tax free shipping. (No affiliation)

Thank you for replying Hernandezja, the reason I asked was that I took off my serpentine belt and checked all the pulleys. and when I got to the water pump it was the one that spun the easiest, almost too easy. It also had a barely noticeable play, like a millimetre or so. I can now stop worrying about my water pump and it's impellers going.
