Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the switched ones to install day time running lights on the front of the car.

I thought the fan could run anytime the engine compartment was too warm?

Not hard to run from there to the back of the car, though you'll have to pull (or snake under) a few panels.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know I'll catch a lot of **** for this, but I installed a wifi back-up camera on my Cab today. I though I might as well, since I have an iPad Mini installed in the dash. I initially wired it to the reverse light but it takes too long for the wifi dongle to boot up. I'm thinking it will be much more useful if I have it connected to switched power and always on vs. waiting for it to fire up each time I reverse. Might make for some cool track footage
. Anyway, it's a pretty cool little HD camera and is mounted up near my license plate lights. All in dongle and camera came in at $60 bucks from Amazon. Hoping someone can make my life a little easier and guide me to switched power at the rear of the car. Thanks.
I know of a switched power pickup point but at the front of the car. It's inside a removable panel by your right foot. 4 wires on a plug. 2 of those wires come on as the ignition is turned on. The other 2 are on all the time. I suppose it is possible to run a link from the switched wires maybe under your carpets to the rear some way and out into the engine bay. I used the switched ones to install day time running lights on the front of the car. I came out near the battery. There maybe another way outside the car to go to the back and into the engine compartment.
As Hurdi says, easiest place to get switched power is the phone connector in the bottom of the center stack. Not hard to run from there to the back of the car, though you'll have to pull (or snake under) a few panels.
Doug996inKC,
Thanks for the suggestion. Is that switched power or is it hot all the time? I thought the fan could run anytime the engine compartment was too warm?
