Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Replaced every bush possible with powerflex bushes.

Those used KWs ^ sound like a great option but it's very likely coilovers won't help you at all.

I would have thought the cars would use the same springs.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been having some squeaking from the right front suspension. Investigation by the local dealer has turned up that it may be coming from with springs or spring seats, bearing. They haven't been able to entirely isolate it. OE parts are backordered which gives me some breathing room.
I think I have 2 options here:
1. Do nothing and put up with the squeaking by turning up the volume, driving harder(engine noise) or opening a window
2. Upgrade the suspension
On number 2, I have looked at KW V1 or V3 and Bilstein(specifically PSS10).
What are members opinions on which they would choose in this setting and why? Feel free to tell me to do nothing as well.
Those used KWs ^ sound like a great option but it's very likely coilovers won't help you at all. If the problem is the top hat or the bearing below the top hat (sounds like it is) than many of the coilovers options won't help you. They retain the OEM top hat.
I have ROW M030 as well . camber increased a bit, "By getting camber right" what do you mean? The shock towers are slotted and should allow you to go from -1.7 degrees (bolts all the way in) to 0 camber if that's what you want.
For that you would have to call the dealer. I align my Porsche at home in my driveway. I did not have to change out any parts. car goes straight corners like a ninja on roller blades. and does not wear the tires funny. DONE.
Hi,
I have a 04 C4S Cab with 78k miles.
Last week I upgraded the suspension for Bilstein B8 + H&R lowering springs (red - lower 1 inch).
Replaced every bush possible with powerflex bushes. Also did the motor mounts (oem).
Had a hard time to align the car.
The tech used the C4S X73/74 (-20mm) (non US) reference values in the Hunter alignment machine software.
Each time he played with toe, he would mess with camber and vice-versa.
To get the 0º toe front, camber was -1º.
To get the 0º10 toe rear, camber was -2º
So ended up with plus half a degree of negative camber front + back to have the remaining parameters right.
So I do think it's needed to have adjustable toe links at the rear at least.
Did a 500 mile trip in the twisties and the ride is fantastic in terms of handling. It will wear the inside of the tires faster but I am not worried, it's not a DD, just does 3.000 miles a year...
CS.
@narkose - If you do upgrade, I really do love
KW suspension
. In extensive driving tests their engineers have set the dampers for the best balance between sporty driving, comfort and safety. For the price of the V3's though, I might suggestion Ohlins
here
.
H&R street coils
are another viable option as well. If you're not looking really for a track application coil, I'd stick to KW or maybe the H&R coils.
I noticed on the Pelican Parts the H&R springs for the Coupe C2 are different then the Cab, curious as to the difference. I would have thought the cars would use the same springs.
2002 Cabriolet - HR-29513-2
2002 Coupe - HR-29513
I am guessing the end result is the ride will be similarly stiff? My cab is definitely softer than I like. I am thinking this may be a winter project though I would prefer only a 1" drop instead of the 1.25" as the adjustable toe parts are outrageous in price for what you are getting.
With ROW M030 factory sport suspension, euro spec, I have had no issues getting it aligned to factory specs. I'm thinking about getting a slightly more aggressive alignment next.
