Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After trying them the sport seats really had no difference in holding me in place.
hi thanks in advance. i have the comfort seats and i notice they really dont offer much support in keeping you planted while spirited driving. i have the fully electric ones with seat heaters. do the sport seats come in fully electric and do they have seat heaters. i remember reading somewhere they they didn't raise up and down, 2nd question do the sport seats offer anymore support to keep you in place?
I think you can get sport seats with full power and heaters. I've got 997 sport seats in my 996. I had the 8 way power/comfort seats stock. The 997 hardback sport seats are power recline only (just the backs). The seat height and distance are manual, and they don't have heaters in them. They are way more supportive than the 996 "comfort seats" and are much deeper - they sort of hold you in turns - not as deep as full racing buckets though... Hope this helps - sorry I can't speak directly to the 996 sport seats, but I would think they're similar to the 997's.
996 sport seat owner here. My drivers side is fully electric adjust (up/down, fore/aft, tilt/recline) passenger side is just electric recline with manual fore/aft. Both seats have the manual rear seat access.
Do they hold you perfectly? No, but way better than the standard seat. I will say if you not relatively fit/lean they may not be the most comfortable, but I think that goes for any well bolstered supportive seat.
Yessssir! And on the topic of seat heat, they are by far the HOTTTEST of any seat heater Ive used. My wife who is ALWAYS cold can only handle the high setting for a max of 15 mins before she turns it down to low. I find the lower setting quite enjoyable on a colder day.
My 40th Anniversary car also has the sport seats with paint matched hard backs. My seats only have a power tilt. Fore/aft and up/down adjustment is manual in my case so I guess they came in both flavors. They are also heated with low and high setting. I suppose they are slightly lighter. I found them much more comfortable and hugging than the full power comfort seats. The lumbar support that is non-adjustable feels great for me - perfect amount.
I've got the 18 way hardbacks with the heater. Rare as heck, but great.
As for holding you in, on a VERY twisty track they won't, but for most everyday driving they're quite nice.

I've had 996s with the standard and the sport seats. They sport seats are "okay" and I find them comfortable. However, if your car doesn't have them and you're looking to upgrade to seats that are more supportive my opinion is that your money is better spent on a set of aftermarket seats or 997 seats.
I have the standard seats and was really considering the sport seats as well. After trying them the sport seats really had no difference in holding me in place. The additional shoulder bolstering did not do much for support for my height (6'2) and I found the rest of the bolstering around the hips and lower back to be essentially the same. Ultimately it was not worth the upgrade for me but they do look a lot nicer.
