Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, Here's what I'm doing.....would love to hear thoughts or suggestions from those who have done similar or like a different setup. USE OF CAR: Weekend driver canyons and spirited fun.......track a few times a year.....autox a few times a year. Need to have grip and not eat tires at events. Let me know what you think or if you have any good suggestions........ current setup..............TOTALLY STOCK FOR SURE: Ohlins road and track coilovers....already purchased CONSIDERING FRONT : GT3 front LCAs (outer).....coupled with tarrett monoball (inner) or their new rubber option inners.......thrust arm bushing rubber or poly/solid? Thoughts? I see Tarrett has their new Cup series LCAs. New thrust arms New tie rod outer ends only Tarrett sway bar with drop links CONSIDERING REAR Stock LCAs or ?? ...............GT3 arms are needed here I don't think as lowering will camber in the neighborhood right?? (thrust arm bushing rubber or poly/solid??)......seems like the thrust arm bushing in rear would be good to go with solid. New thrust arms New dog bones (upper and lower links).....or save money here for now? Don't want to cut corners but not sure necessary.....car @117k mi though. Tarrett Adjustable Rear Toe links....car will be lowered so was thinking this would be needed to dial in toe. Tarrett sway bar with drop links Thanks

POST 2Original post

I would go with TRW control arm outers since they are OEM and much cheaper. I have a pair of 996 gt3 cup rear toe arms at a steep discount in the classifieds, also have a pair of RSS monoball bearings I have installed new Aurora bearings into if you are interested! Good luck!

POST 3Original post

I would strongly advise the adjustable toe links. Pick up the locking plates too (to lock the stock eccentric adjuster). I did adjustable upper control arms on mine, as they were considerably less expensive than LCAs.

POST 4Original post

Also, go to the last couple of pages from my recent build thread as I have some parts numbers listed which will apply to much of your work ahead: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...ld-thread.html Feel free to PM me if you have any questions before/while you order parts up.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
