Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I will be taking my car to the track soon and wanted to protect the paint I started looking at something a little better than blue tape, I found ISC Surface Guard Tape, but it is a little pricey ~$60 for a 4" x 30' roll I found this stuff http://catalog.berryplastics.com/cat...560_040114.pdf that looks like it might work well and its a lot less expensive, ~$20 for 4" x 108' ~$11 2" x 108' It is a little thinner 5.5 mil vs 8 mil What do you guys think?

POST 2Original post

Nothing ever wrong with a roll of 4" blue painters tape on the cheep from Lowes or HD.

POST 3Original post

I used to use something similar but what I found is that it is a hassle to remove and if it isn't perfectly installed it actually beats up against your car and causes stains with the adhesive. So I stopped using it and just decided to wax the car and accept whatever scars happen at the track.

POST 4Original post

I received TracWrap for Christmas. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Looks cool. http://www.tracwrap.com I typically use blue painter's tape. That works well but is not very attractive. I also tried plastic carpet protection from home depot. Much easier to install but left a terrible residue on the car.

Multiple Coats of Plasti-Dip are starting to appeal to me as a good option.
