This was the same polish he used on the body of the car and he says you can pretty much achieve the same result using any kind of polish (in his experience any way.) When I took a stab at this on my old E30 325i and E36 M3 using a different polish, I was able to get the same level of shine, albeit not as good as I did it by hand.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I picked up this 2004 996 C2 back on March 1, 2014. While the overall condition of the vehicle was excellent, unfortunately, it wasn't driven much and both the exterior and interior needed some nice elbow grease.
I met up with some of my friends for a Sunday morning coffee a few weeks after picking up this car and one of them offered to detail the vehicle for me! Talk about an amazing friend!
While my friend is no professional, he does detailing on his free time strictly as a hobby and as you will see in the photos below, what a difference it makes! I thought I'd share with you folks some pictures of his work! Any comments/questions/suggestions are welcome. Enjoy!
My friend Kevin is actually an accountant by trade but moonlights as a detailer strictly as a hobby.

For the interior, he used this:
