Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I have an 01 911 cabriolet that Ive been fixing up since I got it. As far as I remember its had water flowing into the passenger side rear seat, a little gross but I vacuum it out every time. Is there a drain that could be clogged? Or is it something else? Rear window seems to be sealing against the front window. Passenger side rear seat (ignore the speaker wire - Im working on a new speaker system) Passenger side rear quarter panel with top just about to unfold.

Thanks. Where can I find these drains?

POST 4Original post

Put your top in service position an you'll see the collection trays. You should be able to see the drain holes. A lot of people clear them from the bottom outlets in the wheel wells.

This is what I did. Took the wheel wells out and gently used a 14 gauge wire to work out the collected debris. There was also a fair bit of debris collected between the wheel well and the body. Tested it by pouring water on the closed top and watch it come out the drain in the wheel well. Do both sides! If one is clogged, the other is clogged or not far behind.

I dont know if you sorted this out however if you remove the speaker there is a hose that can get detached. Take a look at this thread which has great pics. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ar-drains.html

Yeah that was my car. Do this soon as if too much water collects under the driver's seat you will fry the electronics!!
