Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'regular 996' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'regular 996' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I like to think how I would have spec'd a 996 if I ordered it new. I got pretty close with the one I own.
Mine would have been:
white paint
Dark brown leather
Heated seats
LSD
Full leather
Sport exhaust
18" twists
That's it.
My car would have been exactly the same as yours except for color and I'd love x51 package:
Silver paint
black interior
heated seats
LSD
Full leather
Sport exhaust
18" twists
x51 package.
Lapis Blue or Arena Red
Grey supple, memory, heated seats
Leather dash and doors
Painted center console
Black deviated carpet
Rear wiper
Litronics
LSD
Sport exhaust
2 pc 18's
I LOVE that Porsche still does the ala catre options menu. Ordering new Cayenne S in '04 was a blast.
Only
Aero
X51
LSD
PSE
X74
SSK
Sport seats
Hollow Spokes
Weightless White
Halogen headlights, no headlight washers, no sunroof, no rear wiper, no hifi option.
White w/ Dark Brown leather OR Seal Grey w/ Black leather (rippled leather upgrade, of course)
auto locking lsd
premium sound
sport exhaust.
030 sport suspension (rest of world version)
white gauges
Cabriolet w/ black top and color-matching hard top
Honestly, the other upgrades like heated or memory seats, or color matching center console, wouldn't be required, but of course welcome.
Very interesting topic here, fun to see everones ideal 996
+996 for the GT3 in speed yellow, white, or guards red
On the other hand if it was the regular 996
I would just want the sport seats, x51 package and sunroof delete added to what i have now.
Full leather
Alcantara headliner
CF shift ****/hand brake
White instrument dials
Aero
Barring the GT2 & GT3 variants id go:
Mk2 aero
White
Gt3 buckets
Ceramic brakes
LSD
X51
X74
Full black leather
GT3 wheels
Tequip roll bar
Carbon: sills, door pulls, rear center console, short shifter
Alcantara headliner
Thicker steering wheel
PSE
Litronics
When you guys say "full leather" does that mean leather dash and door cards, or leather everything including fully covered center console, sunroof switch surround, mirror triangles, etc.? Because that's what I think full leather is....the later.
Porsche made the line a bit blurry back then. Even our vent slats are covered in leather which was in a package other than the full leather.
As built we had:
Black - Full Leather Interior $3,215
Supple Leather Front and Rear $390
Full Leather Package $4,890
The later is what covered the silly stuff in leather.
