The remote on the key does not work and I have an Parrot Asteroid Smart player installed by the last owner.
Leading evidence: 'Install by the last owner' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check under the carpet behind the driver's seat' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Car has been repaired in the garage pretty much every day since I bought it a year ago...

Suggestion
Sounds like the alarm control unit is not responding normally, check under the carpet behind the driver's seat to see if it's damp under there..

try this :: Disconnect the alarm horn ( to the drivers side of the battery ) hook up battery and close hood and all doors and lock with key, then walk away for 30min and see if the alarm resets.

I could not get it off until I gave up and disconnected the battery.

No not really, Testers will not access the alarm control unit while they are in the "alarm mode" .( they must be turned off using a "programmed key"..)
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

They also coded the new key to the car so now that also works perfectly, but the old key dues still not work.
The remote on the key does not work and I have an Parrot Asteroid Smart player installed by the last owner.
I took out the player because I could not get any sound to my speakers. Looked at the mess of wires, gave up an put it back. Then the next morning wile unlocking the car, the alarm went off. I could not get it off until I gave up and disconnected the battery.
After printing wiring diagrams, I reconnected and made a system of all the wires on the player, found the ground wire that was not attached to anything and connected it to a ground wire. Then connected the battery and the alarm went off immediately
I then disconnected everything and tried again with no luck.
So I feel I have tried everyting and the alarm starts as soon as the battery is connected...
I tried Durametric 6, but it could not get connected to the alarm.
Connect battery (ignore alarm)
Try putting the key in the ignition switch and turn to ON.
The Immobilizer should recognize the key (proper key) and switch is on and turn off the alarm.
Thanks, Tried that too... no luck.
I am not 100% sure if I tried that with the stereo installed again and ground connected. So I will double check that
try this :: Disconnect the alarm horn ( to the drivers side of the battery ) hook up battery and close hood and all doors and lock with key, then walk away for 30min and see if the alarm resets. Then come back and open with key then turn on ignition and see if it starts. Then re-connect alarm horn.
Thanks for the tips again, appreciate it.
Disconnecting the horn was brilliant first of all, had not thought of that.
I lock the car, then after 5min? the alarm stops. Then I unlock the car (I waited 30min one time too) and the red unlock light starts to blink but no alarm. Then I put the key in and try starting it and the alarm goes off.
The Porsche mechanic mentioned that sometimes the car can forget they keys saved? could that be it?
I hope to find the problem so I can at least drive the car to Porsche before getting the new 2nd key that I ordered.
Not damp there no. Car has been repaired in the garage pretty much every day since I bought it a year ago... Looks like I have to get it to Porsche on a flatbead then
PT3: Would this be an indication that the alarm control is possibly faulty?

Maybe. I guess I'll find out when I get the car to Porsche. Going on holiday now, so it will not happen for a couple of weeks. Sounds expensive to fix :/
No not really, Testers will not access the alarm control unit while they are in the "alarm mode" .( they must be turned off using a "programmed key"..)
I assume this is done so that thieves can't use a standard tester to turn off the alarm while jacking the car..lol
Finally got the car back from Porsche now. The problem with the alarm was something as simple as a fuse! The fuse was apparently whole enough to not trigger any error codes, but burned enough to trigger the alarm somehow. So after replacing it and clearing codes, the car is drive able again.
They also coded the new key to the car so now that also works perfectly, but the old key dues still not work. It looks fine, and the buttons and light comes on when I use it, but no reaction on the car, so I do not know what the problem is there still. (not sure if they coded it to the car again)
There is still a small issue though. When I lock the car, the is a small honk from the horn. Which I assume is the car telling me something is wrong. Kinda weird that Porsche did not see what the problem was there?? (I got the car on a Saturday after hours, so did not get to speak to the repair guy)
Is there a way to easily figure out the problem if there is no error codes?
Without Durametric or Porsche PIWIS there is no way to read the alarm error code. Hood latch, engine latch, fuel filler door, door latches, center console latch, glovebox latch (depending on year) and the ground wire on the radio. All could be a source of the single beep when locking, telling you a zone is open.
Yea iv got same kinda problem..key lights up but doesnt work..i have to unlock with key..then alarm goes off until i put the
key in ignition and start...starts fine...if i put key in door and open lock open it sometimes lets me enter without the alarm going off..
or you can put key in door open and keep the key in the open position with door closed until you see the passenger interior door
light go out then open door and again no alarm...im that sick of it im just gona pull the siren out lol..i hate alarms and just dont want to spend silly
money at porsche fixing it ..1999 c4
I got Durametric 6 and there is 2 different alarm modules. Unfortunately neither show any error. The work report from Porsche also states that there are no error codes on the car at all... What to do??
Update! and good news
I took my car to a professional stereo installer to sort out the mess of wires behind the stereo and figure out why it did not work. Not only did he sort everything out, after installing everything again the alarm now works 100% so great!
The problem with the stereo was some connection on the amp. When moving it around the sound came and went, so he think I need to have someone to look at it. But everything works now at least.
