Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I know my LN replacement on my 996 is beyond it's recommended life.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have seen much about the IMS and failures (Hey, I had one in my 2005 997 at 18K). But I have not seen any threads or data on failure of a LN or other replacement. These replacement manufacturers all have recommendations on mileage/service life of their replacement parts, but I have yet to see any data on how many have failed due to mileage/service life. I know my LN replacement on my 996 is beyond it's recommended life.
Additionally, how many have had their replaced IMS replaced as recommended by the manufacturer.
^^ Jesus dude, not sure whats up with this forum the past few days but every post lately turns straight to an argument. Anyway, as a new 996 owner, I too would be interested to see such information that OP has expressed his own interest in,
Here's some of what I saw clicking the link... I think when you've sold as many as they have, when it comes to pretty much anything, you're bound to have people complaining on the internet about your product - so take it all with a grain of salt.

Things that never seem to get old on this forum:
1.) Talking about M9X IMSBs
2.) Talking about Jake Raby
3.) Talking about oil
4.) 986/996 headlights
5.) How to warm up your car
6.) How the newer cars just dont have the same connected, raw, true sports car feel like the old ones do.
Hoping to tackle the solution during the winter months. Also hoping some of the supply chain nonsense starts settling down soon, not just this particular product.
I don't believe Charles or Jake have ever disclosed an exact number of known failures within their database. They have said on these boards that there have been failures; but the explanation as I understand it from Jake and Charles is these failures are due to a breakdown in the pre-qualification process, and that engine health factors outside of the bearing and its operation are at play in these failures.
Per your question: I am scheduled for replacement in 2 years because there is no chance I will hit miles at this point. I am going to do it and I'm going to upgrade to the solution.
