2 issues have been bugging me since then that has me wanting to get it tuned: I'm at 5000 ft elevation & the low end response could use some tuning.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey folks, I'm looking for help getting my 01 C4 dyno tuned. It has a VF Engineering supercharger kit installed. With the install, the ECU was tuned by VF. After that, Fabspeed headers, x-pipe w/ cats, and super cup exhaust were added to help it breathe. 2 issues have been bugging me since then that has me wanting to get it tuned: I'm at 5000 ft elevation & the low end response could use some tuning. I've contacted several tuners in northern Colorado but they keep telling me that they work w/ Cobb tuners and can't help me. I've contacted VF Engineering, Fapsport, and EVOM about trying to get a map but they have all told me that they can't help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jay

Im new to the forums, and admittedly to Porsche as well. I would recommend giving Harvey, at The Boost Creep a call. If he cant help you, he probably can direct you to the next best person. Hes located in Longmont.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Kowitz, I already reached out to Harvey and he works with Cobb as well. He did say he can help me once I have a flash in hand do pre and post dyno runs.

POST 4Original post

You have any pics of your set up? The VF system looks pretty cool and I think people would be interested in hearing a more recent experience with their system being that most of the threads on here are pretty old.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't take the credit for the supercharger - that was installed by the previous owner at 37k miles and completed in Nov 2015. The tuning shop no longer is in business but I do have some notes in the service records. The car is currently at the 44k miles and drives really well. It fun to drive and a major upgrade over the stock 996s I've driven in the past. The engine comes alive above 3k RPM and delivers linear power through the band.

POST 6Original post

Not sure a Vortech centrifugal will give you much (if any) low end response. Youd want a roots type for that. I had a Paxton Novi 2000 on my old 1995 Mustang. While the top end was hold on to yer hats fast, there was no noticeable difference in low end punch. Really had to get over 4K rpms with WOT to feel it.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bash Hat, that's pretty much what I'm experiencing. Low end feels less than stock though and I'm curious if it's back pressure issues. 2 other points, 5000 ft elevation likely has me running rich and Colorado has 91 octane for premium.

POST 8Original post

Centrifugal blowers take a decent amount of power to spin. Smaller displacement engines especially this one, dont have a lot of extra in the lower range to begin with. The blower starts to work at higher rpm, but still causes power loss down low. It may help with more timing and less fuel down low, but with 91 octane and an engine that wasnt designed for forced induction, it may not be a favorable outcome.
