Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also replaced the suspension with RoW M030 which I am very pleased with.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Who out there has an X51 and what mods have you done to it? Am I crazy to think that I could get 400hp out of this car with a few bolt on mods? X-pipe possible +33hp, IPD plenum +24hp, cold air induction +24hp, on top of the 345hp the car already has? That's GT3 territory.

POST 2Original post

Yes crazy. To sound like an ahole, newbs generally tend to believe advertised increases and add up modification hp numbers which is a common mistake. 10-15whp is going to be a typical max IMO on that motor and that 10-15 is going to cost $3k+. Ask yourself if it will be worth it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Lol. Okay, I figured it sounded too good to be true. Yes I am a newbie to the 911 family and I'm enjoying the learning process. I'm okay with criticism. Thank you for the input.

Glad you're not butt hurt like some and Welcome. I'm sure you'll do just fine based on this experience. BTW, since you already have a good base to start with(x51), I would concentrate more efforts on the suspension IMO. Also, love the 02. I have a '02tii myself but it's not a Roundie...

POST 6Original post

How about starting with some dyno pulls and then add an item at a time and dyno each time you add?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The BMW 2002s and 911s seem to go hand in hand. Best purchase I have ever made was picking up that '73 02. I'm going to do a top end refresh on it and put in a hotter cam to match the dual weber side draft carbs it has. Thanks again for the advice.

That's no a bad idea either. I just don't want to spend the money if the gains are not worth the price. I should have a dyno done after I install the X-pipe just to see what it adds.

POST 9Original post

I have a 2003 with an X51. You have to love this engine! It sounds like a wailing banshee and wants to rev to the red Iine. I added a fabspeed x pipe/high flow cats and the fabspeed intake. I had dyno runs before and after and I was ~20 hp up. I also replaced the suspension with RoW M030 which I am very pleased with. Happy to share dyno plots if you PM me so we can compare John

POST 10Original post

I don't have the X51 but my dyno records also show about 20 hp and 15 ft-lb torque gain with a custom exhaust (cat delete) and ECU tune. That was with the 996 3.6L engine. The 997 engine is noticeably stronger all the way through the rev range.

Just post up the dyno for everyone to see.

POST 12Original post

Not with bolt ons, but I have gotten around 430 at the flywheel from one in the past. It belonged to Ltusler.
