Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, I recently replaced my AOS. I noticed today that the oil pressure gauge seems to be a lot more active than before. My AOS failed. Before it failed under full acceleration the pressure gauge would spike to 5 then back to 2-3 once I got off the gas. Now it moves a lot more and seems to be more sensitive to pressure changes. With the new AOS regulating pressure between the crank and the intake it make sense that the oil pressure gauge is more responsive with a new AOS. You agree? Anyone else notice this after they changes the AOS?

POST 2Original post

Just replaced our AOS last week though it had not failed. I have not noticed any difference in how the oil pressure acts.

POST 3Original post

Well, have you replaced your oil pressure sensor yet? That may be on its way out as well. Any oil indicator failures?

POST 4Original post

Oil pressure sesnors can be all over the map...bouncing from high to low. Don't let it torture you, just change it.

POST 5Original post

At least it's an easy change on the NA 996. $90 and probably an hours work. On my 996tt it acted up once but appears to be working find again, but it's not easy to get to.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't think the oil pressure gauge is bad. Just more responsive now that there is a healthy AOS installed. It makes logical sense that you would see more activity since crank case pressure is being regulated appropriately than before.

I don't know, mine flopped around like that, like a fish, right before it went out completely. This lead to a temporary feeling of sheer terror on my part. I wouldn't be surprised if some 0 readings start to pop up.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll get my eyes peeled for this, but it stays anywhere from 3.5-5 most the time. Thanks!

POST 9Original post

Yep it's on it's way out. I get my parts from the dealer. Oil pressure sender was $55. Get a crows foot. I forgot the size. Easy as pie to R&R
