Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Snugging up the release mechanism will fix it temporarily so I am pretty sure the issue is the connection to the plug itself.
Leading evidence: 'connection' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'connection' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check contacts' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The problem turned out to be the top contact point in the housing.

When I replaced the bulb I checked the contacts which looked good and I scuffed em a bit anyways.

After I replaced headlight bulbs on one side my blinkers were all messed up.

Suggestion
Some fine sandpaper/emery cloth will probably do the trick (I've had to do this on both the engine bay light and license plate lights) after cleaning put some conductive grease on there to keep it from oxidizing again.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After removing the headlight again and re installing it worked for a short while, but after a few bumps its out again.
A few weeks ago when it got very cold in the NE, I lost my driver side turn signal. Blinker was doing the "fast blink" and I thought the bulb just went out. Replaced that and no luck.
After removing the headlight again and re installing it worked for a short while, but after a few bumps its out again.
Snugging up the release mechanism will fix it temporarily so I am pretty sure the issue is the connection to the plug itself. Here's what I have tried so far:
- Electrical contact cleaner in plug and light housing
- Battery terminal grease in plug
- Slightly bending tabs on housing
- Removed plug from based to verify no loose wires
After all this it worked until the first bump. The headlight unit itself is tight with no play, and all other functions work fine.
At this point I am open to suggestions. If anyone knows of a diagram displaying which pins are for the turn signal that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance for any help !
maybe replace the bulb holder itself? i had to finally do that as i was burning through bulbs...after the fourth bulb i finally pulled that holder out and saw that there was an arc frying the bulbs. 30 bucks i think and havent had a problem since.
You may a little more than contact cleaner on the bulb receptacle. Some fine sandpaper/emery cloth will probably do the trick (I've had to do this on both the engine bay light and license plate lights) after cleaning put some conductive grease on there to keep it from oxidizing again. If you do this and it still goes out, check all the crimp and/or plug connections - make sure they're tight, and not corroded.
Thanks guys. When I replaced the bulb I checked the contacts which looked good and I scuffed em a bit anyways.
All indications are with the connection point on the plug
This may or may not help. After I replaced headlight bulbs on one side my blinkers were all messed up. Turns out that the support to the stationary part of the headlight assembly (the receptacle) was broken and the connector pair was not fully mating. The replacement support was something like $10. In the interum I got my son and his skinny arm to reach in from the wheel well (I was cleaning the radiators at the same time) and push the receptacle onto the mating part.
Problem solved!
After fiddling around with the connector and connection points at the back of the housing and getting no where, I decided to take another look at the bulb area.
The problem turned out to be the top contact point in the housing. It had a groove worn into it by the bulb socket. Bent it back and applied some battery grease and bingo.
Interestingly the other side was fine and since this is a rarely accessed part, I can only come to this conclusion. The way the access point is positioned against the mounting tray, it makes contact and puts force on the back of the plug. Over time, this wears at the upper contact point and creates the groove.
This also explains why when I snugged up the assembly it would work for a minute until the first bump.
Thanks for the advice guys...sometimes its the simplest solution
