Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have a 996 gt3 and sometimes I get envious of the 997 interior. The 996 has too many pieces and just like in my old 996 c2 I feel like it's cheap plastic. I would like to have my dash finished in a one piece alcantara trim such as the RS 4.0. My question is, is that too cheesy/dumb or even a waste of money?

POST 2Original post

I dont think its necessarily cheesy if done well. Just make sure its a quality material that wont fall apart in a year. Waste of money question is all in how much value it has to you

POST 3Original post

I would keep a 996 GT3 as pure as possible. It would be impossible to reverse that mod I assume without replacing the dash?

POST 4Original post

Would look great and make the car a nicer place to be. It would be a waste of money, but if you want it, it's a good way to waste money IMO.

Keeping it as pure as possible went out the window when I put the RS deck lid on it lol

POST 6Original post

Having the entire dash done in alcantara may be a bit too much. I thought the 997 gt3 did it well with having half alcantara/half leather. https://iedei.files.wordpress.com/20..._interior.jpeg

It wouldn't be the whole thing. I'd just like to have the dash done in one piece so it's a smoother flow throughout the dash instead of having all these pieces that make up the 996's interior
