Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can't really think of anytime I would use the "quiet" button...
Leading evidence: 'Use "quiet" button' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use "quiet" button' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Put on my new Fister muffler mods last weekend and they are better than I could have hoped for. Factory sound at cruise and a great bark under acceleration!
More fun than should be legal!!!

I had a chance to get an OEM PSE system for a song and I asked myself the exact question and saved some cash in the process. I can't really think of anytime I would use the "quiet" button...

For me, it depended on the amount of mileage on "your" cans. Mine had less than 30k, so to give them up (swap) for a set that had ???? miles was waht made the determination for me. Darin is fantastic and I wasn't out of commission for too long. Not sure where you are, but 'round these parts, still got plenty of snow. If you want to have them ceramic coated, Darin has a definative schedule, so you might want to inquire as to when they would have to be at his shop, so you don't miss the window of opportunity and have to wait an extra week or more.
The sound was as promised, no droning and the workmanship looks fantastic. Everybody comments on how nice it sounds and I love that it doesn't sound like an aftermarket exhaust. I spent a lot of time wondering how to get a more throaty exhaust sound without going overboard and wish I had bought Darin's mufflers earlier. No regrets and plenty of smiles and the sound never gets old.
Just wanted to add to the chorus. Darin had me on a waiting list for a modified set, and he emailed me as soon as he had them and then got them shipped out lickety-split. I put them on Friday eve. and have been grinning ever since. My car had bypass pipes from the previous owner, so I've lost some volume, but the snarl is pretty delicious and the highway drone is 100% gone. Four thumbs up and thanks for the great work, Darin!
I am a new member and am less than 30 days into my first Porsche experience.
First, I am amazed at all I have learned, and have yet to learn about these great cars. Second, thanks Rennlist for saving me from the "drone". I would not have been happy with that. The Fister mod seems like the ticket for me but I really cant decide between Stage I or II. All the clips are either idle or heavy accel or decel no in between. Another factor is that I will be putting on sport cats later and am concerned about the combined effect. Any thoughts on all this would be much appreciated.
BTW I have a 2003 C4 Cab.
Thanks,
Ron
