Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have to buy the car first, though, so before I own it, butcher it and THEN get to test the seat, any comments?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know, I know. I obsess. You should have been here when I bought my '99.... So the C4S I'm considering has power seats/no lumbar. This product would seem to be the solution. http://www.schukra.com/prd_power.html OEM to Toyota, Audi, BMW and others. Process involves carving out foam in the seat to make room for the mechanism, and they can direct me to installers with experience. I have to buy the car first, though, so before I own it, butcher it and THEN get to test the seat, any comments?

POST 2Original post

Gary - if you do a search on "lumbar" here on the 996 Forum there were some threads which discussed ther manual air bladder options that are much less expensive, and easier to install and do not require butchering of the seat back.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Tim. I'll browse the results later but about 3 pages. Some guy, gary mermel pops up periodically. Doubt he has any credibility......

POST 4Original post

I put in the manual lumbar air bladders. They work great! They were really easy to install as well. Found them here: http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/
