Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am running quite a few ECS purchased parts on the car!

Are you running AFR's at 10 WFO on purpose, or is it just a super safe tune?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It has been a while since I have posted so I thought I would give an update on the car and numbers! The license plate on the car is GT3 LOL also if your wondering why its in the title.
Car put down 428whp on an AWD dyno.
and as promised, yes I will post a video shortly haha, car is at a shop getting some fab work done right now but I should have it back in a week or so.
This is the first time she has spent serious time outside of the garage since the turbo install. More to come!
Thanks! Thats on 8lbs on the factory 3.4. I wont do too much more until the 5.3 v8 goes on and I hook the turbo system up to that. Problem is going to be the tranny holding up :/
Thanks, I really like the millenium edition violet color. You can see too much of the purple in these shots but it really comes out in the sunlight.
Gracias!
Very nice and impressive number especially on awd 3.4.
Do you have the dyno sheet? Curious about your curve and afr's.
Besides overall power, how's the driveability and turbo lag with that setup?
Was the 8lbs only for the dyno or do you run this full time? I'm thinking 8lbs might be that much closer in playing Russian roulette with the factory head gasket/bolts.
There is a big notice in the torque curve and the lag is definately there for when your just driving around town. Not to much during track events as you are always in the higher rpms. I hit full boost in the upper 3K RPM range. AFRs are 13.5 ish when cruising around and 10.9-11.2 when under full boost which is a touch rich. Ill see if I can dig up the dyno sheet, it isnt as good as TPC claims in terms of lag, but it isnt all that bad either. I run 8lbs full time until I get my boost controller and BOV as the kit. As for the factory head gaskets and bolts, many before have run this kit much harder than I and have yet to see problems. If that does happen it will move my 5.3 install that much sooner haha.
Haven't really had it out much since the turbo install. Ran a base c5 vette but thats about it, nothing to write home about. Thanks for the kind words!
You know its really hard to make a 996 MK1 look good, most people make a "Turd" out of theirs on here. But you Sir! have done an Excellent job. Great Taste!!!
Impressive and good to see you back with this surprise. This has turned out better than I could have imagined. you've done an excellent job. Can I get a test ride? lol. Congrats
Will do thanks! I had a MAF problem earlier and you guys helped me out no hassle so thanks for that!
Thank you very much! I wasn't in love with the headlights witht he factory bumper but i think it goes well with the gt3 nose. I have really grown to like the MKI lights. I wanted to change the opinion of those who dont think the MKI headlights have potential.
MAShaw made the rear wing. It has some small defects but he is a nice guy to work with would buy from him again.
Thanks guys. Make your way here and you take her for a spin yourself. I am pretty lenient on letting certain people drive the car.
Wow!!!
Beautiful car and with the performance to match it. Would love to see some video.
I'm going to be in Western Pennsylvania next week but still 5 hours away from you, darn I would have loved to see it in person.
Wow what a build so is everything the TPC racing turbo kit? That runs about 9k right? Obv install is probably pretty high as well, something I may want to do down the line.
Can't wait for videos. When I'm down your way, I'll send a pm, maybe buy you a beer and check out the car?
Wheels or tires?
absolutely!! I did the install myself and have modified the kit quite a bit to make the numbers I did. No muffler, no cats, metal piping instead of silicone intake pipes, etc.
I can't remember exactly, its a poly 997 gt3 replica. I wouldn't say its a "name brand" bumper because its a wannabe bumper. If I can find the seller in my web history ill post it up.
It's a 996 GT3RS wing, but I'm really curious about the nose. Most update bumpers try to keep the 997 corner lights, but this one looks much better. Who makes it? Do they have a version with the vents in the top?
Would be nice to have a spare and not cut holes in my oem bumper...
I will have to find the offsets but I know they wheels are 18x11 with 285 rear, 18x9 255 front with a 12mm spacer. I run about neg 2.5 degrees camber in front and rear. Zero rubbing even under hard driving.
Great looking car. I am interested to know more about your turbo set up. I too feel the need for more power, but was convinced by the ole interweb that boosting my 3.6 was a bad idea...lol
Glad to see that it can be done, and safely. Are you running AFR's at 10 WFO on purpose, or is it just a super safe tune?
Thats the point of the plate. People confuse it with a gt3 but it really isn't even though I could put a hurtin on one performance wise..
Yea, the tune is rather conservative for now, and I plan on renting out some dyno time in the fall.
