Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have two recurring problems and I don't know if they are related. 1. My left front blinker bulb constantly blows. If I replace it, and go for a drive to test, eventually it blows (within a few miles). It doesn't blow immediately but eventually after a series of left turns it blows 2. Cigarette Lighter fuse - since I'm a non-smoker I don't realize it's blown. Now that I'm trying to use it as a power source, I realize now that it's blows often. I know it's D5 and 15 amps. Nothing plugged into the lighter socket and as I'm trying to insert the new fuse, it immediately blows Are the two connected? I've searched both Google and this forum but no luck. Needless to say, although low level on the scheme of things that can be going wrong, they are both "needed". What say you oh wise-ones. 911STYL Ron

POST 2Original post

Hmmm....its interesting for sure....I would think that if it was a short the fuse would blow before the bulb. A couple of things come to mind. 1) Is that the right fuse size....maybe the wrong fuse was put in. Check to see if that is right. If you you put in the fuse with lower rating does that blow before the bulb. 2) You clearly have a short with the lighter....is the lighter scket clean?

Im having a similar issue. My cigarette no longer has power as the light around the outside isnt lighting up. I checked the fuse and its fine, replaced it anyway. Still not getting any power. Could it be the housing?
