2nd bank cat failure, 1st bank performing less than optimal on my 02 C4S(my code reader and confirmed by my independent shop. Fabspeed x-cats installed by previous owner around 2010. Fabspeed cannot straight out replace as product has been updated over the years. New Fabspeed cats @ $900 per would need mods to piping for install, this does not include labor, with warranty on cats, not piping mods. IPS says $900, including cats ( non-stainless, unidentified brand) no warranty. Anybody have thoughts on this?

U get what u pay for sometimes. I belive fabspeed uses factory cats in their pipes. U wont get any codes. Dont know anything about ips but maybe they r good, maybe not. I have used generics on other cars but the porsche seems to be sensitive

Check with Magnaflow. They had cats at one time for the 996 and where recently building a full cat back system for the 996.
