Purchased my 03 4s in March 2019 with 21,700 miles on the clock: Oil Changes: April 2019 @ 22,700 (IMSB/RMS/Clutch/Flywheel) no UOA August 19 @ 28,400 Mobil 1 UOA #1 Feb 2020 @ 33,100 Mobil 1 UOA #2 Mar 2020 @ 34,300 DT 40 (switched oil after Jake's "liquid death" comment) July 2020 @ 38,500 DT 40 UOA #3 Sep 2020 @ 43,080 DT 40 UOA #4 (car became a 130 mile/day dd end of August) Oct 2020 @ 47,040 DT 40 UOA #5 Shown below are all 5 UOA, feel free to comment.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm fairly new to this stuff and will be doing my first UOA for my first oil change with DT40. Have you noticed any difference in oil consumption once you switched, if any? It also looks like everything is in good shape and viscosity actually improved with DT40. I'm curious about what the safe values are for the lower portion, especially for the ones showing wear around bores and rings. The promising things seems like the wear metals, including Iron, have been dropping since you switched oils.

Based on previous comments from more knowledgeable people i believe the trend in the numbers is more important than just a static snapshot of 1 UOA. My 4s doesn't burn much oil so i can't comment on whether i'm seeing more or less with DT vs Mobil, but my mpg has noticeably improved since switching, though i'm not sure the oil switch is causing that or if my new dd of 130 miles/day (all highway) is giving me the boost in mpg.

The highway miles are more likely impacting your gas mileage than the change in oil. I don't doubt that the oil makes a difference but only a low percentage as compared to highway driving. You're doing the best thing you can do for your engine with frequent oil changes (it looks like you're doing between 4-5k miles). Good Luck
