Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Being that it was a modified FRC C5 Corvette that he used for autocross, I thought it was pretty funny.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

At first I was excited about this plate but now I'm wondering. Is it a statement of individuality ? Do people understand it? As a 996 owner, I thought I'de get the best response form you guys. So honestly, what do you think?
Like it. I almost bought GOTMINE but thought that was too "in your face". I think people that don't know the old add slogan remember the line from Risky Business.
I always wanted to get plates that say "Earn It" but... already had someone kick my door in on my e46 M3 in Boston, "just because". I can only imagine the problems I'd have with a 996 with "Earn It" plates.
I daily drive all over the city and I have to park in a city parking lot where all the drifters and homeless wander through. I figure the car draws enough attention and having a specialized plate would be the icing on the cake. I opt for the plain jane state issued plate. Seems in some cases a personalized plate is just asking for trouble. I've got enough tail-gaters and morons in big pickup trucks/SUV's pulling up within inches of the rear bumper as is. Never have figured that one out but they do it all the time and it just makes my heart pound. Seems not everyone appreciates our cars like we do, or understand that there is no substitute.
Heh. I've always wondered if plates like "B838B8B" do anything except make 'em angrier as they're writing out the citation.
"Dispatch, there's a black 911 with an illegible plate doing 120+ on 805S @ Balboa. Call off the chase...I can't tell if that's an '8' or a 'B.'"
Can't remember the specific letter combination, but she wanted "compensation" for her plate. Luckily she decided she liked my 5PT2SEC suggestion so I'm not embarrassed to drive it
Most people get it, but every now and then I get a "car guy" that has to have it explained
I don't think it's ever been a liability and it's actually been a conversation starter with a few cops that led to tickets for a much lower speed than I was tagged for.
I like my plate (5CHN3LL). The joke's a little more inside than I anticipated, but I like it.
I wonder if they sit around on the Prius forums trying to figure out how to get "My poop doesn't smell" and "Holier than thou" into just 7 characters...
+1
I had a vanity plate on my very loud track prepped Corvette that read "2SUBTLE?" One day driving to work, I had the windows down, cruising along and this young kid was in the car to my left and yelled out the window "what does your plate mean?" He was probably 10. I yelled back, "ask your mother."
How do you explain the concept of subtlety to a kid, especially while driving 45 MPH down a crowded street?
As to DBJoe's comment, I'll tell you this: I get a lot of tailgaters, haters, idiots, etc. when driving my fancy cars. But back in the day when I had a 996 cabriolet, that didn't happen nearly as often. Sometimes I'd even get a thumbs-up. Why? Because I had the top down. People could see me, they could see that I was just a guy driving his car. There was a lot less hate. But in a coupe, or with the top up, everyone is in a cocoon and hostilities rise.
Ok, here is my contribution:
A 996 with Vanity Environmental plates
I think its funny as hell to put an E plate on a Porsche plus I spent my kids college money on my car it all makes sense to me!
Illinois has a bunch of special interest plates... an "E" or an Environmental plate is issued in Illinois with a certain percentage of sales going to some form of Environmental Conservation or another... a lot of them are on hybrid cars in this state...
Hence why its funny on my 996 with no cats!

In the UK you can only buy number plates that have already been issued with the DVLA and are in the standard numbering convention.
I use to be a pilot and I'm married to Nikki, this is what we have:
Well, I'm going to get...oh, wait, I live in Indiana and because someone got butthurt over an "offensive" message, we can't have them until the restraining order gets lifted.
As a pilot, my choice for the BMW would be "VNAV SUX" (Vertical Navigation mode and it DOES suck!) or "AC X-TIE" (MD80/DC9 reference).
For the 911, I'd like "LATRL GZ". Maybe, if I'm feeling frisky "COP BAIT" or "HI OFICR".

Mine's a hexidecimal word substitution cipher.
Translation: 'Thanks for not giving me a ticket'.
Wouldn't trade it for any personalized plate in the world.
Guessing your avatar is from the new Panamera cover? Or is it the other way around?
As for my plate, I get enough negative attention here in SoCA without "making a statement" on my plate. I just have the Beach Scene charity plate. (singular)
I like your plate. My new one has yielded some unwanted attention by local law enforcement.
Was stopped by a prisoner transport vehicle. He supposedly paced me, which was a load of bull. Walked away with a warning. I'm pretty sure he wanted to check out the car up close.
There's a fine line between clever and d-bag when it comes to personalized plates. Sorry, but a plate that says some variety of "earned it" on a car that costs less than a new Ford Taurus is the pinnacle of irony.
A kid that I used to work with had "JDM YO" on his plate. Being that it was a modified FRC C5 Corvette that he used for autocross, I thought it was pretty funny. He said that non-car people constantly asked him what it meant.
