Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

So when I start my car in the morning it starts just fine. Go for a 40 min drive , let the car sit for 5 minutes and it turns over really slowly , sumtimes won't start at all. It always start eventually after the car has been sitting for 30 or more minutes, The reading on dash is usually close to 14 when car is running . The guy I bought the car from almost 2 years ago said it had new battery , I do believe but its always turned over slowly , Sitting in the car right now at airport waiting for girlfriend to land, I'm on my phone but I was just stranded at the beer store for 25minutes until it started

After engine is fully warmed up at idle, if you turn on the low beam and the a/c, does the voltage drop below 13v? If it does, there's a good chance your starter y-cable or grond cable is bad. How's your engine temperature and are you sure both of your cooling fans are running when the DME activates them, both at low and high speeds? There is at one case the where the fans are not working properly and that makes the starter too hot and it seizes. Another possibility of course is the starter itself.

POST 3Original post

Starter is going bad. I replaced my starter when it started doing that and never a problem since. A two year old battery is also closing in on the end of service, but in this case it is your starter.

POST 4Original post

There was just a post a few weeks ago with a bad cable leading to the starter. It had a high resistance connection right at the starter, so when it's cold, it's not big deal, doesn't drop much voltage, the car starts right up. But after it heats up it has a high resistance and drops too much voltage and the car won't start. The only way to inspect as I recall is to cut back the insulation.
