Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Check if there is the same goo on the dipstick ( if you have one) and also check for oil in the coolant.

Suggestion
Porsche coolant was yellow until 2004,then, they switch to pink, probably when they did the fill/flush service as you mention, the change was done.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

is it time for me to panic?? Finally got to snooping around the engine compartment and found this. I'm tempted to jump off a bridge but figured there could be cooler heads here that might talk me out of it! I need to get it to my local trusted indy mechanic but it's been so freaking cold I have not had a chance.
Check if there is the same goo on the dipstick ( if you have one) and also check for oil in the coolant. If those checks come back negative, you should be ok. Cold weather causes that goo in the oil fill tube.
That's just water condensation in the filler tube. Like they said, check the oil and coolant and then don't worry. Treatment is to drive the car a lot and make sure it gets up to operating temp and this will burn off.
Normal. In cold weather if you're only doing fairly short trips, you get this condensation in the filler tube. It disappears after a good highway drive.
The cold weather is precisely the issue. If you drive your car short distances in cold weather, the engine doesn't get fully warmed up. This results in condensation in the filler tube. The moisture causes the oil residue in the tube to emulsify, resulting in the goo shown in your photo. Clean it out and then make sure you drive your car for 30 minutes or more to get the engine nice and hot to burn off all that moisture. Do this regularly. You'll be fine. No bridge jumping required!
Had the same scare last year in winter months, especially after reading all the "intermix" s**t on this forum. Took car to shop for a look and all good. Should be fine. GL
Wait.. It's not supposed to be pink? I thought it was... Serviced at porsche up to 86k with 92k on it now. One fluid fill/flush done no records of any other coolant related services.
Porsche coolant was yellow until 2004,then, they switch to pink, probably when they did the fill/flush service as you mention, the change was done. New mechanics have no idea about the color change.

Owning a 911 means frequent oil changes are in order.
My coolant was straight from Prestone. Now pink thanks to a flush.
My filler tube has the same stuff. No worries. Just take long, spirited drives.

My experiences are slightly different. It seems like it's cold weather and highway driving that do it for me. When I do a lot of city/low speed driving (and no highway driving), I don't get that.
I think it's because more cold air gets into that area when I drive at higher speeds, and that's where the moisture condenses. In city driving, I think that whole area simply stays hotter.
