Now since the 17” wheels won’t fit due to the BBK, and I sold them, I‘ll just swap out the OZ wheels with the new PS4S tires for the Carrera II wheels with 2 year old PS4S tires...if I need to drive in to work (most likely a Data Center trip) during sub 50 weather.
Leading evidence: 'data center trip) during sub 50 weather' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). There's definitely a market for used rims., the tires should be disposed of most likely.

My plan for the 17” set was to buy some cheap all seasons to use when the temps got too low for my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

These came with my 996 when I bought it from the PO. The tires have a lot of tread but are admittedly old. The wheels have been rattle canned in a gunmetal color. Is there any market for these Mille Miglia Cup 3's? Any recommendation of what to do with them? You can't hurt my feelings. I feel like these are kind of 4 boat anchors taking up a corner of my shed. I'll move it over to the classifieds if there is a market but I just don't find any even posted FS any time recently especially with as many OEM twists are out there.
What size are they? offset? take some photos of the markings stamped on the inside and closer shots of the edges of the rims showing any curb rash. There's definitely a market for used rims., the tires should be disposed of most likely. Did they come on a nb or 4s?
I think size matters....if they are 18s you may be able to get a few hundred for them. OEM solid spoke you can get maybe if you are lucky $600 (ask me how I know) so it would have to be somewhat less than that. If they are 17s i don't think they have any value. With that said, depending where you are to avoid shipping I might be interested. I am looking for valueless wheels that i can slice off the faces and use for wall art in garage.
Great idea!
Mine is slightly hidden by the old BMW manuals I'm sending to Goodwill.
They've been setting there a week waiting to be dropped off.
Cheap eBay Porsche 996 stainless headers make great Garage artwork too.
Hoping to get rid of the toolbox & tools soon so I have more room...for art.
I sold a set of curb rashed 17" wheels recently on Craigslist.
(They will no longer fit on my car with the big brake kit)
Since I also have a spare set of factory 18" BBS Carrera IIs I really didn't need them anyways.
I got $50 for all 4 wheels and a case of silver Duplicolor.(6-cans)
$200 Boxster hood, $200 Carbon Fiber wrap, $30 Meatball and some stickers.
$100 eBay Stainless headers
$300 Carrera II wheel art (made by a Rennlister)
Compared to the artwork in the house, that's peanuts.
Here's some more of my Garage Art:
My plan for the 17” set was to buy some cheap all seasons to use when the temps got too low for my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
That’s a rare occurrence down here, even more so now while working from home.

Thanks for the input guys. I went out and took another look at them, and took some pics for a potential FS thread. To answer your questions though, they came with a NB 2002 911 cab.

Went to a wedding in Perrysburg long time ago. Drove from Chicago and got pulled over by Indiana State troopers in both directions for an expired Illinois registration. 2nd time I had the earlier summons already in my hand by the time he reached my driver's door. Told him they got me on Friday and i was just heading home to take care of it, lol. He let me go.
For what it's worth, when I went to get my 928 inspected and it was wearing the same wheels (in 18"), one of the techs told me that these things are in demand in the VW community, so you might want to have a look there. I don't know how true it all is, but it's something that I plan to investigate myself once I make some time.
Good luck
I actually thought about that myself. Not sure what models these offsets or size stagger work for - but that's for the VW guys to worry about. Just due to their (low-ish) value I'm going to post them on some local Facebook marketplace / Craigslist to try and avoid shipping first. The VW market interest will certainly open up my options. Thanks!
I just recently sold my dinged up 17" wheels with tires for ~$300 on Craigslist. You can see them in my thumbnail pic. Someone sorta local with a 997 bought them for winter use. The tires were old-ish, but had decent tread left. Throw them on Craigslist and see what happens.
$400 obo with the tires on. I was really hoping for someone local that could get some use out of the rubber. It would cost me $40-$60 to get the tires pulled off and disposed of. If I were to spend money pulling the rubber off and spend money shipping, and finding boxes/crate/whatever it quickly gets to a point of diminishing return for a pretty low value set of wheels. Local with rubber still on them? I'd let them go for next to nothin. I just had to post up a starting OBO. If I'm crazy high let me know, I'll drop it down.
$400 sounds like a good place to start.
If you want to sell them quickly, drop to less than half and I bet they'll sell right away...depending upon how many people in your area own a 9x6 that might want a spare set of wheels.
