I thought 996 had high-tech air, and that 993s used normal air -- or should I say coolant.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My front passenger side Conti blew this past weekend and I'm waiting for my P-zero's to come in. What tire pressures are you guys running these at? Also, is it necessary to do an alignment if I'm getting 4 new tires? Can't wait to get these tires because that bright orange spare tire is just killing me!

POST 2Original post

Heh-heh-heh, the only other topic I know of that was hit with more passion is the 993 vs 996 topic. Search the archives, and you'll find a variety of opinions.

POST 3Original post

Must have missed that one. What was the the point of contention between the 993 and the 996? Is there really a difference?

POST 5Original post

after much experimentation i like 34 front/38 rear in the c4s. i believe viken goes even lower.

POST 6Original post

Stem [quote] If that doesn't get them going, nothing will!

do 993 people regularly read this board? Mike

POST 7Original post

[quote]Originally posted by Stem: What was the the point of contention between the 993 and the 996? Is there really a difference?

In terms of tire pressures, not much. However, there is a huge difference between the cars but that's another story.

Viken [quote] In terms of tire pressures, not much.

You mean there is basically no difference in tire pressures? I thought 996 had high-tech air, and that 993s used normal air -- or should I say coolant. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Mike

POST 9Original post

Hi Viken. Can you elaborate on the differences between the 993 and 996 since I do value your insite. I love the 993 and wish to get one at some point in time(wife factor sucks). Nice to have 2 P-cars in the garage. Information is good!!! Regards. Mike

POST 10Original post

[quote]Originally posted by Mike in Chi: You mean there is basically no difference in tire pressures?

I meant to say that both cars respond about the same to a given set of pressures. [quote]I thought 996 had high-tech air, and that 993s used normal air -- or should I say coolant.

Yes, both.
