I assumed it was the relay and bought a used one on Ebay that is "guaranteed." It does the same thing.
Leading evidence: 'relay and bought a used one' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'relay and bought a used one' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use " relay' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You actually went to EBay and searched for a "used" relay to fix your problem?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
After using my wipers recently, they stayed on regardless of the "stick" position. When I pulled the relay, then stopped (but still work, just without the intermittent feature). I assumed it was the relay and bought a used one on Ebay that is "guaranteed." It does the same thing. Did I buy a bad relay, or is this a different problem? Hoping to be sure before I send this relay back.

Let's start with something. You own a Porsche..right? A Porsche. So the wipers went wonky and you pulled the relay. Then, you decided you would fix the problem by buying a "used" relay off EBay that was "guaranteed". You actually went to EBay and searched for a "used" relay to fix your problem? Really? To save some money vs buying a "new" relay? Tell me this is not true. As a Porsche owner, I am appalled and beyond understanding. Hope you saved a bunch of money!
Or the switch in the stalk or dial on the horseshoe is bad and all u r doing by pulling the relay is opening the circut. U need to pull out the multimeter and start testing
Normally windshield wiper motors have a "park switch" built into the motor that keeps the wipers working after being turned off until they reach the "park position" , otherwise they will stop instantly in the middle of the windshield or wherever.
So, usually when the wipers won't "park" (stop) the wiper motor is bad.
The wiper motor also has 12v on it anytime the key is on.
I'm not saying that is definitely whats wrong here, I'm just saying I have seen many Techs scratch their head trying to figure out why the wipers wont stop, and it turns out to be the park switch in the motor.
The park switch makes sense, because when I control them without the relay, they stop wherever they are when I shut the switch off. You'll have a PM, De Jeeper.
I don't have a pin out for the relay or a full wiring diagram, and I bet it'll show 12V when the motor is running and 0V when it isn't. That's why I asked folks who have scratched heads over related issues. Sorry if I "appalled" some of the more senior members. But so far, I have yet to waste money on new parts when I'm just trouble shooting.

Replied.
Pick up a bentley service manual if u get more electrical issues. they have good wiring diagrams once u figure out how porsche configured them. Was able to trace and confirm all my mk2 into a mk1 car conversion.
