I changed oil from 0w40 to 5w50 but that didn't have any effect on the pressure - it's still the same 1.0-1.1.

My idle oil pressure dropped to 1.0 - 1.1 (which is within normal but that sudden drop is suspicious) at some point during the spring and I don't know if it relates to replacing alternator etc or to those weakened oil pressure valve springs etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I have potentially a similar issue as here : strange oil pressure after new AOS install My idle oil pressure dropped to 1.0 - 1.1 (which is within normal but that sudden drop is suspicious) at some point during the spring and I don't know if it relates to replacing alternator etc or to those weakened oil pressure valve springs etc. I changed oil from 0w40 to 5w50 but that didn't have any effect on the pressure - it's still the same 1.0-1.1. If I get a manual gauge is there a guide available how to measure that?
