Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After a couple of years with nbo Porsche in the garage, it was time to get back!
I picked up a '03 C4S in August, semi High miles (100k), but well maintained and a engine rebuild at 82k miles. The car is on fresh B8 / H&R springs with new control arms, alignment & tires.
Generally speaking I'm happy with the purchase, but as always there is room to optimize. Especially the steering response could be a little tigther when pushing the car and the bump steer is pretty bad compared to a non lowered car.
The only reason I chose the C4S over the C2 are those hips!
I've enjoyed the car for approx. 2k miles since August and it's now off the road, while the salt trucks do about 10 loads a day on our road...
So: It's time to start modifiying!
Planned use: 90% backroads, 10% track
Completed upgrades: B&M shifter, Numeric shift cables, Sparco Evo2 on Brey Krause mounts & sliders, Tequipment cage coming before the spring
Wheels incoming: BBS E29 (997 cup wheel / E07 design) 9 & 12x18, Centerlock conversion, Tire decision still open (315/245), been wanting to try the RT660
Planned suspenion upgrades and questions:
Please don't beat me up, if I got some things mixed up. Tried to do as much research as possible in the parts catalogues.
The main goal is to find out where aftermarket upgrade parts make sense. I'd like to piece it together until next fall and do the upgrades after getting to know the car a little more at the limit.
Coilovers: Almost new GT3 take offs are on their way, together with the strut mounts
Knuckles / Spindles / wheel hubs: PNs are clear, just need to find and buy them
Front lower control arms: GT3 arms. Does it make sense in a street application to go to a solid bushing and uniball ends for the desired application?
Front upper control arms: Same part for C4S and GT3 --> Simply get the new bushings from FVD or Tarret Monoball?
Rear lower control arm: Since the C4S and GT3 have the same rear control arm setup, does it make sense to go the the 2 pieces GT3RS arms?
Rear upper control arm: Same part for C4S and GT3 --> Simply get the new bushings from FVD or Tarret Monoball?
Rear Toe link / track rod: GT3 / RS has different PN. I've found a variety of adjustable aftermarket ones. What makes most sense?
Rear upper wishbone: C4S and GT3 / RS parts are the same PN. Does an upgrade on that end make sense?
With the AWD removal, I have an LSD planned (OS Giken), but that can be discussed later.
Looking forward to the discussion!

Im prerty sure u will have to change a bunch of brake components with the gt3 spindles and hubs.
On the rear my car has rss hiem joint uppers and terrett adjustable toe links with the rubber bushing on one side. The stock coffin arm and lobster fork. I find this combo to be a good mix of solid and flex joints that keeps the nvh down and gives the car an excellent track feel. The front i have stock gt3 lowers to get camber and stock lobster forks. The tie rod ends are upgraded rss units. Again comfort is good and steering input is very predictable.
Currently its on h&r lower springs and b8s. These kinda suck so im waiting for the ohlins r&t to go in sale.
The brakes are a good point. From my understanding, the Spindle, Hub & knuckle didn't change between 996.1 & 996.2 GT3. And the 996.1 GT3 should have the same brake setup as the Turbo / C4S. The 6 piston calipers were not installed until the 996.2.
But I will dig deeper into that!
Good input on the upgraded suspension parts. Was the change significant when you switched to the RSS / Tarret pieces?
I will, but I'm still several months away from completing all the parts to finish the conversion!
