Supposedly the big one is for 996, I got it packaged with the correct part number so see what they say, I think I'm just going to replace the factory cables , I've found a set new for 200, cheaper than numeric, how much is that set up , about 800?

I use the numeric shifter and cables and can recomend that set up if u want to spend the $.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys
Just wondering if anyone has used these , I didn't want to go through the rigmarole of replacing my shift cables just because of the ends popping off the gearbox so I bought these security clamps. Problem is it just says simply slip them over , but they won't fit, the groove in the clamp at the back is too small to fit over the pin which the cable end clips onto, I've checked the part number and it seems right, I've seen pictures of later cars with a ball type connection where I can imagine the slot fits behind to hold the assembly on to the link , I understand that but with mine , the link is like a straight pin so I can't even see how a slot will retain the socket end of the link , I think it would still slide off even if it did fit, confused!!
There's two types, mines the one on the left but not much cop, I've emailed tuneRS, let's see how good their response is! Other option I may ask design 911 to credit me against some new cables!
When i pull up the link the one on the left is for a boxter, the 911 clips r the 3rd one over. Even though the pics r the same maybe they r different? I use the numeric shifter and cables and can recomend that set up if u want to spend the $.

I spent about $750 american on the shifter and cables. I bought a recondition shifter at a discount. Still has a life time warrentee. They usually run discounts this time of year.
U can just buy the cables but stock cables r all u need if u r keeping the stock shifter.
As jake said some safety wire or even zip ties will also solve your issue.
