My all time fave is Risky Business. But, Gone In 60 Seconds has it's merits. The opening sequence in the movie has them stealing the same car I have from a Porsche showroom, then racing it all over town!

was 1992... i was a valet at an upscale restaurant in sacramento (Mace's). being a big fan of the movie "no mans land" i immediately recognized THE "pvtdncr" when it drove into the friggin parking lot and parked! i went up to the guy with jaw dropped and convinced him to give me a ride in it. he said he was friends with a producer in hollywood who asked to use his car in the movie. is a very fond memory of my youth. hell of a nice guy to give a kid a 10 minute ride in his special car. just a couple of weeks ago i was thinking about that ride and did a youtube search. i found the "no mans land" trailer which shows the car (before and after it was stolen) and was wondering where that car is today!?! ...how cool would it be to track it down and buy it someday?!
OK, I tried to find a pic, but even as a kid I remember a 911 with a ski rack at some fancy resort in the James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"

I could watch No Man's Land again & again, Charlie Sheen, a cute blond, lots of '80s music, LA scenery, a plot partially borrowed from "Gone is 60 Seconds", and a great racing scene along Mulholland Drive.....
And as I previously noted...."The King of the Mountain".....Dennis Hopper and Harry Hammilin ....A great race scene between a Rear Slit window and a very Lovley 356....look it up on yourtube, it is worth your time...

My buddies car was in the 'Informant'. Matt Damon signed the driver's side door. The movie was shot fall of 2008. Feb 2009 he wrapped it into a tree. He still has the door.......
The opening scenes of the movie Woodstock has a shot of Janis Joplin (I think) pulling up in a white 911. The new(er) GI Joe movie, Return of the Cobra or something, has a old 911 it the traffic jam during the chase scene. It shows up a couple of times.

How about Lee Majors (driving a 917-10) in a race against the man in "Last Chase"? It looked like it could have raced in the Mickey Thompson offroad series. It must have had 6 inches of ground clearance...
I like the fact that Sally the 996's spoiler goes up at speed. It cracked me up when I saw the cars movie. (you can see it at 1:46 in the above clip, and other places)

That is my buddy's and fellow RL'str DWS964's C4. See post 49. He is also my 3 houses down neighbor and track buddy. Matt actually signed the driver's door. Sad to say the car met its demise with a tree in a snow storm 2 years ago. Still has the car along with 2 other 964 C4's.
I could of sworn I saw a porsche in Back to the future when they made the jump to 2015 into flying car traffic. It looked like a flying car that passed them on the left then was in front of them was a 911.

Them we saw him ripping down the air strip in the super cool Porsche 996. He cut the plane off when it was trying to take off, then he even rammed into that planes landing gear during take off, We was like WoW ,and then he drove through a gate and saved his daughter out of the plane.

I mistakenly bought a Rolex because the opening scene where he props up his arm on his 912. I didn't know anything about watches when I bought it. Another addiction contracted from Mr. McQueen. It's taken me 40 some years to quit trying lame substitutes and purchase a Porsche. A 996 seemed much more practical than a 912!

Just found out that the "Porsche" driven in Top Gun and 48 Hours were not real Pcars, but rather replicas.
i work for a major toy company, and we tried to do a a licensed toy vehicle but was rejected because they were not the real thing..

Wheeler Dealers is a British television series produced by Attaboy TV for the Discovery Channel, fronted by Mike Brewer and mechanic Edd China. The premise of the show is that Brewer and China are on a mission to save repairable enthusiast vehicles, by repairing or otherwise improving an example of a particular make and model to a budget, then selling it to a new owner.
In April 2013, a spin-off series titled Wheeler Dealers Trading Up was launched. This series has Mike travelling around the world to buy and sell used cars in different countries on a set budget. He begins with $3000 and trades his way through the series up to a Porsche 911.
