Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ordered this off eBay for $299. The original was blistering and it really makes a nice difference. 4 screws and about 1/2 hours is all it took to change it out. Is it wrong to pet your dash after a good run through the twisties

POST 3Original post

The sweeping asymmetric lines of the gauge cluster is easily my favorite part of the 996 interior (as well as the door handles etc.) it's just an amazing piece of design! It looks great in Alcantara btw. - the red stitching is a nice touch

POST 4Original post

Very nice! Having similar issue with the one I picked up a couple weeks ago. Can you share the link?

POST 5Original post

Great deal for $299 I immediately searched eBay but haven't got lucky on sourcing a set for that price haha

POST 7Original post

Not so much a fan of the red stitching but otherwise looks awesome. Is there adhesive involved?

POST 8Original post

I always wondered how difficult it is to take that piece off. Apparently not difficult. Need to pull mine off to have it my local upholstery shop recover it. Where does it screw to?

Remove the microphone and the hazard button to gain access to the mounting screws. Very easy procedure.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Exactly RJ - couldn't be easier. Then there are 2 screws that hold the cluster to the back. No adhesive just the screws. I troll ebay almost everyday - my wife got this for me for an early birthday present - it was exactly what I was looking for matches my shift **** perfectly.

It's the little cover plate to the left of the instrument cluster that would house the microphone if a cell phone was fitted to the car. It just pops out and there is a screw that is now exposed.
