Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Drove down to LA from the Bay Area to catch up with a few old buds. Spent the day driving 150 miles of twisty canyons including Angeles Crest Hwy, Aliso Cyn and Soledad Cyn out by Acton. Car was flawless.
Hes had it 20 years. Has it dialed in. Punched out 390 to 400 AMX motor, full suspension, cage, harnesses and Ferrari midnight blue paint. No one cared about the 3 Porsche guys. Everyone was fixated, coming up to ask about the 69. 😃
Heres a better pic from a couple years ago when he gave my daughter a ride in it.
I was about to say something about the AMX also. Awesome! Looks like he has it dialed in. Back in the day they were pure lightweight straight line tire burners. Nice to see one still out there providing some love!
^^^ Hmmmmm... I'd think that if you got it to the right range he wouldn't be able to hang with the Porsche's (his COG is too high - he'd literally fly off the road). Super cool car though... the paint is amazing, and I'd bet he beats (smokes?) the Porsche's in a 1/4 mile...
As a teenager growing up in Bama, in 1971 the State Troopers used the AMX 401 as their "Interstate Pursuit Cars", they were easy to tease in a race...lol
I can remember both times, one sat near my High School for years without moving, & I would stop & check it out often.
The other one was passing me at the 1st "Muscle Car Showdown" At Beechbend International Raceway in 1985.
I assume the one pictured is a 2 seater?
Don't let the height fool ya,, the AMX's had quite a rep on road courses as well.

was pretty nuts Couple of them run vintage locally.. sound good too..
My buds pretty good behind the wheel but even still Im always impressed he can hang with the Pcars. Although when we pulled into the Newcombs Ranch parking lot he mustve spewed a quart of coolant out the overflow. No such troubles with the C4S. 930 miles in 3 days. 150 of which being canyon carving mostly above 5k rpms and climbing to 4,000ft. The C4S never missed a beat.
This forum needs more of these stories! People spend so much time and anxiety in worrying about 'all' the possible problems with these cars. Meanwhile for me, we bought it to drive. Family rides, outings, date nights. They are meant to be driven.
