Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, In the market for a 996 (currently thinking 4S). As for the 4S, is there any particular type of seat option that you all recommend? Not too sure seat options that were even available during the time of the 996 or if that is something I should be considering with the 4S. Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

Its all personal preference. Try sitting in one of each and see what you like best. Im not a fan of my supple leather seats. Dont find them particularly comfortable in the lower back area. Would prefer sport seats. Will probably switch them out down the road.

POST 3Original post

My 4S came with the supple leather seats originally, but I found they did not hold me very well. The sport seats I swapped them out for were better in that aspect, but not as comfortable for long trips.

Were they plug and play?

My $.02 (Keep in mind I'm 6'5", 210lbs): Comfort (regular) seats - Bit tight in the waist area and not super great in the low back. Also the headrest is an alarming distance from the back of my head. Decently comfortable enough for long (several hours) drives, however. Sport seats - Looks faaaaaaar better than the Comfort seats. My shoulders don't fit between the widest part and thus sit more on the seat rather than in. My Targa has the full electric Comfort seats with heat and lumbar, and IMO fit the more "touring" characteristics of the car. For a C4S, I vote Sport seats.

POST 6Original post

The 997 sport seats are worlds better than the regular supple leather seats(which are the same as the regular seats with perforated leather btw). I can't speak to the 996 sport seats as I've never sat in them.
