Just a note, when you guys get serious about buying, I do highly recommend a test fit in models first.

As you can see the seat cushions are modular and easily replaced...it would be an harder to deal with a problem with the seat fabric.

just purchased thru a fellow rennlister,i got some deal!...very happy...after checking out some prices, ive come to realize how much these seats are going for,i mean crazy money ,even for some that are pretty beat up.Any way pays to do business with an afficianado, and also finding them in grey was pretty rare.and as usual the slippery slope of upgrades is im now thinking of the 6 point harnesses and tequipment rollbar, porsche fever running wild!!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

+1 Comfort: Good for 50 year old, 245 lb guys? Or do you need to be a skinny guy? I assume only adjustment is fore and aft on the seat rails? I was looking at a TT last month that had GT3 seats that looked just like these, but one reason I balked was not knowing how comfortable those seats would be, and I wouldn't be able to sit in the car before pulling the trigger on it.
Also, you said you researched some seats that were pretty beat up. The car I was considering had rips in the seats, so I didn't know if you could get them recovered or how much it was gonna cost. Did you look into buying a beat up set and having them recovered? If so, findings?
Nice pickup in grey, somewhat rare... Guys the seats are the Recaro GT3 buckets. Many copycats that are not FIA approved like these. I'm 6' 250 and they are snug but doable for an hr or 2. I couldn't live with them daily. Recaro sportster CS would be my choice for double duty, they recline have better bolsters and pass thru for harness. Only prob is they go for $1800 each in full leather without mounts or sliders.
No one would label me as being skinny
but I've still enjoyed this type seat for a couple of years. The comfort issue has to do with the high sides which creates an exercise when getting in/out....for a daily driver this would be real a consideration. Once in the seats they are fairly comfortable....for about an hour at which point you need to get out and stretch. Great plus factors are they hold you snug in the corners, significant weight reduction, harness and they look really cool! As you can see the seat cushions are modular and easily replaced...it would be an harder to deal with a problem with the seat fabric.
I'm in the process of swapping my GT3 style out for Recaro Profi SPG XL's which are a little wider in the hip/torso/shoulder areas.
Hardback & Fly996 - Thanks for the info! I suppose GT3 seats could always be sold for enough to buy a set of regular seats if somebody decided they were too "mature" for them.
Yes thanks for the replys,Hardback and fly are right on the money, getting in and out a little awkward, but snug and comfortable, and a total of 45lbs of savings, compared to my hard shell sport seats, also would be suprised if you could find a decent pair for under 2500.00,i looked and looked and got lucky ,like i sed a fellow rennlister who didnt want them sitting around gathering dust.
Just a note, when you guys get serious about buying, I do highly recommend a test fit in models first. Sponsors love to come to track events so that would be a great opportunity. Body type (torso length, should width, weight, etc.) make a huge difference. You don't wan to be stuck with something painful just because you got a good deal.
The ones you posted are reclineable seats. Even Recaro or Sparco don't have any reclineable seats that there FIA approved with the exception of the factory GT2 seats which are over $5k a piece.
FIA approval usually only applies to fixed back racing seats. I won't get into the FIA debate here and beat a dead horse again.
