Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Just sharing general observation on recent test drive of 996 cab tip. I currently own 06 MB CLK55 AMG cabriolet w/ 362 hp, and I thot it'd be fun to get 996 also. As much as I really enjoyed the powertrain and braking, it surprised me to discover the chassis not quite as stiff/well put together as I thought. In fact, it feels less solid than my 1989 Carrera Cab. Overall, it's a fun car, but I think i need to either check out a 997 cab in the future....or just enjoy my CLK55 cab and my C4S coupe separately PL

A lot depends on which suspension is in the car and and if it's the original (not refreshed)

Agree with you completely. I came from a 3 series with sport suspension and the 911 felt like a 70's Cadillac. After dumping nearly $4k into the suspension, it is other worldly now, but I am annoyed I had to do it in the first place.
