Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I did search (although briefly) for similar issues but mainly came back with lots of window regulator issues. I dont think this is regulator related, since the window opens and closes fine. And drops when engaging door handle. The driver door does seem to drop less than pass. Door. I believe this is because its hitting the rear glass and its stopping it. Since I got the car I have noticed the driver door window getting stuck while first opening it. I wasnt sure what it was. I now see that while the glass does drop when opening the handle (inside and out), the glass is too close to the rear window, so it binds up in the corner. I have attached a few pictures. Is this common? Can I adjust the glass positioning? The door reveals are perfect, but the glass is too far back in the door, if that makes sense.

POST 2Original post

Remove the door card/panel. There are two adjustable door glass clamps on the top of the regulator. Loosen the clamps so you can move the glass. Mark the glass position first with a sharpie so you can see how much you move it forward.

POST 3Original post

The regulator is not the reason for the misalignment, but the glass is out of position as it sits on the regulator mounts. You need to remove the door panel, moisture cover, and adjust the positioning of the glass. Once you get everthing removed, you'll see where the regulator clamps down on the glass. Slightly unbolt the clamp to loosen the glass enough to move it into the proper position. Once the gaps line up correctly, then reinstall the panel. Then recalibrate the window's positioning points, by holding down the window switch in down position for 10 secs, then do the same for up position. That programs the car to know the threshold for UP and DOWN position of the glass.
