Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Ended up just replacing the oil pan which worked out anyway because the gasket was leaking but could have done without that expense.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T124918Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

Happy Saturday everyone! Need something to do? Wanna see what's up with Project: Pepper? Here's a teaser: the RUST is real! Peeling Back the Onion on YouTube

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I sorta did. I paid a pandemic tax. I believe I would have spent 3-5K less in 2019. Maybe more.

POST 4Original post

I recall Jay Read being told he needed to be a sponsor to post links to his YT videos when he was starting his channel. Not directed at you, Yogi, but I wonder why the admins haven't done the same to you?

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 17544212

Probably because Yogi only has 298 subscribers (at the date of this post) on his channel which means he is not monetized by YouTube. Therefore, not a problem for IB at this point, IMHO.

https://rennlist.com/forums/new-memb...l#post16829546 668 subscribers. I still think Jay got stiffed. Good luck, Yogi. Get ready to cough up some sponsorship dollars, I guess.

Jay Read has a website selling merch associated with his YouTube channel. His channel is now pushing 6K. I think he also has a second channel. I definitely can't speak for Rennlist or IB, but I can see why they chose to remove his promotional posts.

Yogi great video. This is Luis. Dont feel bad about overpaying. At the cars and Coffee Saturday I met a guy that has a convertible. The car was at West Houston when I was looking for mine. Since It was local I was interested in the car that was January. Anyway Im glad I went a different route, car has 60 plus thousand miles bore scoring. $26K. sorry that you got all these problems with yours. By seeing your previous work Olaf you sir do things the right way. Im not sure Pepper is the right platform, yes everything can be fix but you are going to have a ton of money in the car.

Edmunds often lists True Cost To Own numbers for new Porsche 911s. The lifetime 911 cost is often the same as the cost of the vehicle. A new 992 base, no options, starts at $99k. So thats $200k to own that car. I wouldnt sweat it 😁

POST 10Original post

Yogi, it IS a great video, thanks for sharing. Sucks you have a car that was wet for a long period of time. You are right, the rust is real. I had super rusty brake parts from winter driving (salt). Otherwise, garage-kept cars driven in good weather and well-maintained wont really rust like this. Peeling back a little carpet under the seat should be a PPI check item.

302 now! I don't mind sponsoring. Sometimes you gotta pay to play. I promote Rennlist on just about every video so far. Thanks for all the feedback gents. I hope to keep the channel going with more 996 content. There's at least a year's worth of DIY content on this car alone!

POST 13Original post

The bolt reminds me of my MINI drain plug I dealt with recently. Wouldn't come off, impact gun with a bite socket on it and it didn't budge. Ended up just replacing the oil pan which worked out anyway because the gasket was leaking but could have done without that expense.

POST 14Original post

Hey Yogi, Love the videos, I am a subscriber so do not give up on the car because of the rust, everything can be fixed. Hope you either learn how to weld, or find a Forum or PCA member close to ya that can help get that fixed. All your videos are great!!

I just found the ChrisFix video on how to weld a floorboard. So Im good to go now! 😂
