Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Removed my air box and when I took it out I found this cord just laying there and could not find where it went. I have a 2004 C4S . Orange plug is the maf sensor plug but one on the right has me confused cant figure what it plugs into if anything?

POST 2Original post

I have one too that goes nowhere in my 03. I'd like to say I've seen this explained before, but those more knowledgeable will chime in.

POST 3Original post

I've read it is some kind of factory diagnostic plug.

This is correct, and the Porsche assembly plant Factory is the only one with the protocol ad tool to work with it. But there is a Tach line (TN) in there that can be handy at times.

POST 5Original post

Its stored in this bracket, passengerside backncorner with the o2 sensors.

I hope you're taking good care of your health, because you're the only one around who knows this stuff.

Thank you Bill for the concern and props. My energy level has declined considerable after I was forced to retire after open heart surgery 7 years ago. I feel fine but fatigue easily after exertion and have to rest frequently. Heart rate is good 60bpm and blood pressure is good 120/80 without medication ,so DR. says see ya next year..lol Positive feedback from sharing my Porsche experience , and selling my UAOS to improve the platform ( and positive comments) help to keep me going !! Thank you !!

So true Bill. We are blessed on this forum to have one of the few Porsche master techs to offer support and assistance on a regular basis. Thank you, Skip!

POST 9Original post

Thanks for your knowledge and participation, Skip! BTW, I was born and raised in Birmingham and began my automotive career at Crown Automobile in the '80s. Did you work in Bham?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you Bill and everyone else, I was so worried something would not be working if that wasnt plugged in.

POST 13Original post

There's a dummy receptacle it plugs into to keep it from swinging loose and maybe to keep grime out. On my '99, IIRC, it's down near the bottom right of the A/C compressor. On your '04, check next to where the right side o2 sensors plug in.

POST 14Original post
