Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've often used Griots exclusively but used Adams products this time.

I used the orange pad on the compound application and white pad for the finish polish.

I used my porter cable orbital for the other applications.

I did have to break out an old fashion wool pad and 3M compound that's designed to break 1000 grit sanding but that was only in a few areas that needed it (hood and roof) Using a full rotating buffer takes practice not to burn or rub paint off but for heavy stuff its the tool you need.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Finally got to check off some large tasks on the to do list. May was landscaping month as was June. Now detailing can begin. Really enjoyed being able to take my time over the long holiday weekend. This was a full jack stands and power wash cleaning. I removed the front and rear lights as well as the bumper cover and other small aero parts to really get into all the areas I could. As well as cleaning out the radiators.
I've often used Griots exclusively but used Adams products this time. I had to break out some heavy 3M compound and wool pad to the hood and roof, even after the clay. Im happy with the results of the Adams products. Now some paintless dent removal on the lower fender.
Thanks. Was presently surprised at the Adams products, especially on my wife's white car, which everything seems to stick to.
I like the aero-cars as well, but the plain 996 body is appealing to me.
Nice. What license plate mount do you use and are you happy with it? A number of the tow hook mounts that I've seen make me worry that the license plate could scratch the bumper.
Looks great. What Adam's products did you use specifically? Every time I wash my car I spray on the detail spray while it's still wet and then wipe it dry. Love their products.

The plate mount is the universal one that's all over ebay. I ended up getting one used off craigslist for 35.00 so I cant complain. Its far cheaper than the rennline product but its works. It does have three large 1/4 rubber nubs on the back that prevent it from scratching the paint, works well and is powder coated so I haven't seen any rust issues. Happy with it, and avoiding the no front plate hassle from the police.
The Adams products I used where the pink paint correcting polish and then the white finishing polish. I followed up with race glaze sealant, had it around and it works very nice. Its another independent company. I buy their detail spray by the gallon, I've often given it to people to try and they are really blown away how nice it is. I'm sure its comparable to Adams. I used the orange pad on the compound application and white pad for the finish polish. The sealant by hand.

I used my porter cable orbital for the other applications. Pretty sure the PO was just a wash and wax kinda guy. It was always garage kept but I can certainly see the difference in the finish now.
Prior to any of the work I clay bared the entire car.
I would say the only disappointing part of the exterior build quality for me is the black rubber trim. I can definitely see it deteriorating if its not maintained. I taped off the trim during the detailing then cleaned it again and applied a rubber dressing. We'll see how that works after a few washes.
Not too sure I want to update any of the amber lights. Its on the long list, but for now all the other 996 owners can easily identify it as an early car from a mile away : )
But you never know.
