Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I doubled checked all steps and realized that it appeared that the MAF intake tube was either too long or not correctly matched for my model 996.
Leading evidence: 'Check steps and realized' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check steps and realized' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Closely following the installation instructions, I installed the unit.

Again, my 996 model has a Tiptronic transmission which was no problem as I used a small air intake filter on that line which is not connected to the intake tube.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently purchased an Evolution Motorsports (Evo) Cold Air intake for my 2004 Porsche 911/996 C2 with Tip. Closely following the installation instructions, I installed the unit. Upon completion, I found that the entire unit was positioned too far (approx. 1) to the
right
inside of the engine bay. I doubled checked all steps and realized that it appeared that the MAF intake tube was either too long or not correctly matched for my model 996. As a result of this, the cold air induction duct on the left side of the unit was not lined up to the OEM duct under the rear spoiler. As you can see in the photos, something is wrong, and the fitment is not right. I reached out to Sam Stone, President of the company. He initially acknowledged that something was not right but failed to ever get back with me on a resolution after 4 weeks of emails & calls. While Im happy with the performance gained & driving experience with this part, I
very dissatisfied
with the failure of the company to make any attempt to resolve the issue. Moving forward, I am asking any members if they may have experienced the same problem and provide any suggestions to correct it. Again, my 996 model has a Tiptronic transmission which was no problem as I used a small air intake filter on that line which is not connected to the intake tube.

Take it off, send it back to them (or supplier) for a refund. Challenge the credit card expense. Put stock air box back on. CAI is a misnomer. Looks nice, does nothing.
GH996: the part Kit included the smog pump bracket the moved that part over to the left as intended to accommodate the CAI box. Its definitely the MAF intake tube. U tried rotating it various angles to get correct fitment to no avail. Thanks.

^^^ This ^^^ it's actually a HAI (Hot air intake)... The stock intake is actually a much C(ooler) Air Intake
